Are there any Freepers who support John McCain?

Are there any Freepers who support John McCain?

If you support Mr. McCain, can you make the case for your man?

Can you make the case without bringing up the War?

Can you make the case without bringing up Judges?

Can you make the case without using any ACU ratings? (Those don't impress anybody.)

Can you make the case without insults or telling people to "calm down"?

Can you make the case without the type of lying and dishonesty we've come to expect from John McCain and his special friend Mike Huckabee?

Can you make the case without trashing Barack Obama?

Can you make the case without using Hillary Rodham Clinton as some kind of boogyman or boogyperson?

Can you?

The ball is in your court.

If he gets the nomination I’ll support him.

I support him because of his strength of character and military record, which I believe a President, particularly a wartime President, requires. I expect warts and faults in any candidate - and am highly suspicious of anyone who claims to have none.

Sounds like you’re asking if we can make the case without making the case.
Exactly! You just said the exact same thing as the original post but without all the extra verbiage.

Your post #754 is a good summary of the situation. Thanks.

Forgot what the questions were.

Looks like McCain is our nominee though, like it or not...

You are right, and I support McCain, with similar logic.

“His voting record, and leadership of the surge.”

Are you talking about McCain?!

How is Huckabee any better than McCain?

Simple ....because he is the only person left for the job. In a perfect world the field would be deeper and richer, but for now it is just McCain.

I may not like porridge much, but if the option is starving then I will gobble down the gruel like a camel at an oasis. Simply put, McCain is not perfect. Not even close. But based on what the nation is currently facing, and based on what is currently available, there literally is no one else. Thus, people can say that they will not vote for him because of this or that or whatever conservative credentials they claim he doesn't have (which is interesting because someone like Huckabee only has the 'Church' credentials and nothing else ....hombre probably never saw the inside of an economics textbook), but the fact is that when all you have is a choice between porridge and hunger, porridge becomes a 5 course meal.

What is in his voting record that is not strong pro-defense.

I will vote for McCain in November, assuming he doesn't pick an absolute RINO loser as his running mate.

That's about as far as my support goes at this point.

I’m going to hold my nose while I vote for him. Supposedly he is against Universal Health Care and early withdrawal from Iraq. Those are the two issues that I care most about. And in the meantime, I’m going to do alot of praying for my country.

If McCain is unpopular with some conservatives, it’s because he has the courage to say what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
