Presidents are for four years at a time. Supreme Court Justices are forever.

I do not believe that McCain would push very hard for any justice Ted Kennedy would approve of.

If McCain is elected, who will oppose him? He’s going to reach out to the left. He said so. Will they oppose him? No. He’s a Republican. Will they oppose him? No.

I know where you are coming from, but the love fest both parties and McCain would make for, it something I’m not signing on to.

You have your points. The above is something you can’t deny. McCain would have free reign. That scares me more than Obama or Hillary with a Republican opposition.

I did not know until today that he voted FOR Ruth Bader Ginsberg but AGAINST John Bolton.

So much for John McCain the conservative.

John McCain is officially interchangeable with Hillary.

The rest is posturing, lipstick on a pig, lip service, a career politician's chameleon chromasomes on display.

“I did not know until today that he voted FOR Ruth Bader Ginsberg but AGAINST John Bolton.”

And today Bolton endorses him [McCain]?

We’re in an alternate universe....

Maybe Trafficant had it figured out...

BEAM me up!

I also will vote Republican no matter who is the nominee.

It does look like it will be McCain.

After reading the article at the link below and hearing Huckabee say that the sea treaty needs to be buried at sea, another issue McCAin is wrong on is added to my list. Never thought I would say this, but it sure makes Huckabee look better and better.

Hey McWhacked, I'll be giving you the same support in November that you have given conservatives the last 8 years.

Any Questions, Juan??

It's beginning to look as though republicans will have their very own basket case for a candidate. JMO, but John McCain is the nearest thing to a loose cannon the pubbies have ever been able to get this close to "the button". Even Barry Goldwater, for all his bluster, was not the unknown quantity that John McCain is.

I completely agree with your assessment, and I haven't heard many people make that frightening observation. McCain sometimes exhibits the same kind of eerie, 'manic' behavior as Howard Dean.

I will be writing in my choice of candidate as well. I decided some time ago that never, ever again, will I cast a vote simply to cast one against a democrat. For the rest of my voting life, I will only vote for a conservative.

I'm so glad to hear you say that, nic.

And thank you for the very kind words. They are doubly meaningful, considering the source.

Excellent commentary, DoughtyOne. I second every word.

As for your 'new party' idea ... are you familiar with the Constitution Party?

Thank you for the very kind words. I am truly humbled.

I, too, want to thank you for all of the excellent McCain links, and the insightful commentary -- here and on other McCain threads. I have forwarded the contents of your post #211 to my entire 'political' address book. Beautifully done, sir!

I am aware of it. I haven’t studied it all that much. I have been reluctantly supporting the RP instead.

I’ll check it out.
