No articles on here, I apologize. I just wanted to bring a little bit of opinionated discussion in at this point, now that we stand on the brink of setting American back 4-8 years...
The conservative candidates are out of race, and it looks like it's McCain or bust. How many of you will close your eyes and vote for McCrazy over Obama or Hillary, in order to do minimal damage to America over the next preidential term...and how many of you will sit home and watch the sky fall?
Personally, I'll do just about anything to keep the Clintons at bay, including vote for John McCain.
I will not vote for John McCain.
“Im writing in Tancredos name”
If you do, your “vote” won’t even be counted as a vote for Tom Tancredo (who I myself liked).
Again, and again, and again, and again - I see comments from those here who say they will “write in” their choice for president.
Following is intentional shouting:
IF YOU WRITE IN THE NAME OF THE CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT ON THE BALLOT, IT IS NOT A LEGITIMATE VOTE. It won’t be counted.
Have you heard of something called the Electoral College?
Unique in American voting is the fact that when you “cast your vote for president”, you ARE NOT voting for the candidate per se. Instead, you are voting for a slate of electors who are pledged to support that candidate in the Electoral College.
Thus, the only legitimate “write in” vote for Tom Tancredo would be to write in ALL the names of the electors who will support him when the Electoral College convenes. As Tancredo has now withdrawn, I will guess he HAS NO electors representing him.
Thus, it becomes impossible to vote for him (or, more correctly, his ELECTORS) in the general election.
And the same goes for EVERY OTHER failed candidate: no electors, no “vote”.
Of course, you are “voting for him in your own mind”. BUT THAT’S ALL.
Give it up on the “write ins for president”. You can write in ANY OTHER candidate for ANY OTHER office in the United States by name. BUT NOT the president.
The level of foolishness on here at times must rival that over on the Democratic Underground (I’m guessing because I never go there).

Bust.
Electing a RINO at this point only encourages further shift of the Republican Party to the Left.
I cannot, in good conscience, vote for him or encourage further shift.
NO.
“Did the Founding Fathers hold their noses and choose the lesser evil? It would have been more convenient for them if they had. No war, none of that messy liberty stuff. Kind of like hydrocodone, only with a higher co-pay.”
Alexander Hamilton died in a Duel with Aaron Burr... we used to settle political rivalries by killing our opponents... I wsh dueling would make a come back. I’d run for office!
LLS
I’d vote for Obama over McCain but McCain over Clinton.
Yep. Party first, for now. However, I’ll be on the front lines of the next Revolution, and I WILL kick @ss and I WILL take names. :)
I think we need to concentrate our efforts on holding on to the what we have and working on gaining ground in the House and Senate.
They aren't my team anymore, so that's their problem.
See, I'm not angry at the GOP, I'm done with 'em.
We should all stand outside of the polling places (within the legal boundaries, of course!) handing pens to voters going in so they’ll have something to use when they write in a name.
“I swear if I see one more were doomed GOP is Dead vanity thread I will take a vacation from this site.”
WERE DOOMED!!!
Now keep your damn promise.
You are a Hillary lover. Sit home, on your butt, and watch your girl get coronated. I’ll even come to your gay wedding.
“The enemy is the Clinton and Obama machines. I will do whatever I can to keep them out.”
IMO, the more insidious enemy is the creeping liberalism status quo within the GOP. That is what needs to be dealt with. Unfortunately it’s going to take a dose of Clinton/Obama to have any affect on changing it.
My vote for Tancredo will count if Tancredo runs on a 3rd party as I hope he will.
Plus if enough of us have write in campaigns at least it will make the news or be on talk radio and it will be known why we didn’t vote for McCAin the Marxist, pro-Amnesty for illegals, anti-American , enemy of freedom.

Fine.
May your chains wear lightly. :-)
Well, we don’t have one, so give that up. I would crawl over broken glass to vote against either the Clintons or Barack Hussein Obama in this election. Turning over the USA to either of those Socialists would be the death knell of our country as we know it and have known it. Over and above what they would do to us economically and socially, the adverse national security implications are too horrible to contemplate. In short, open season on Americans by the islamic jihadis.
At least John McCain understands that issue and will take the fight to them as GWB has done for 6 years. Election of either democrat will tell the islamics that we surrender and that they can feel free to resume attacks on CONUS. I will not throw my vote - and my children and their children’s future - for some childish, misguided idea that McCain is not sufficiently “conservative”. That is insane.
“At least we may have a chance of influencing McCain to stay to the right.”
That is absurd. McCain is to the left of Rudy Giuliani. We have a better chance at keeping Hillary in the center. She is much less dangerous to us than McCain.
You are a fool, dude.
