Romney has now bowed out of the race leaving only McCain, Paul and Huckabee. It's impossible the latter two have any chance of garnering enough delegates to win the nomination. That leaves McCain. He has slapped Conservatives in the face more than enough times by siding with Socialist Democrats on issues. It's clear McCain will take the GOP farther to the left. The question now becomes how many of you have had enough of the GOP abandoning Conservatism and will in turn leave the GOP?
I really think freepers should band together and do it on the same day. Are BOE’s open on Feb. 18th, President’s Day?
My opinion ... It’s the GOP that is leaving us ...
I left the GOP when it left me, years ago. I reluctantly changed my registration to republican, so I could vote in the primary. I’m changing it back today and will vote for Obama.
All the whining has been about keeping Hillary out of office. Obama can. So I’ll give the GOP what they seem to want so badly. Another loss.
Things started going down hill when GOP senators gave Slick Willie a pass during the impeachment process. Bush has been a big disappointment for me, and a McCain nomination will probably be the last straw.
I am not out, but not voting GOP on the top of the ticket!~
I’m not leaving the GOP ... it’s leaving me
I say we all hop on board tthe Republican Liberty Caucus. Use it as a lever to wrest back control of the GOP leadership.
The liberals "stole" it from within. We know this strategy works, so let's do it to them...
Huck has done all this without much money. He is also, if you haven’t noticed yet, the only remaining way to stop McCain. If he drops, he drops, and that’s the ballgame. But if Huck stays in it we can take this to a contested convention in which neither Huck or McCain are looking that strong . . .
There comes a time when citizens must assign priorities to here allegiances. This is such a time when everyone must ask themselves what is of greater importance, being a Republican, or being an American. For me the choice is simple. I am an American, now, always, and forever. No political party will move me from there, and I feel no need to align myself with any such party to proclaim myself an American.
I was lucky enough to vote for Ronald Reagan in the first election I was able to vote in. Unfortunately, the Republican Party abandoned his vision & goals, which were based on the principles which made America great.
I must confess I voted for people I didn’t believe in since then out of party loyalty, but I will do this no more. Until the Republican Party returns to its’ conservative roots, I will vote for the most conservative candidate on the ballot and if there are none on the ballot, I won’t cast a vote.
Not out, but taking a break.
I’ll let the geniuses handle it this time around. I’ll check back from time to time to see how they are doing.
Two choices, evil and evil.
No thanks. Not a choice.
such histrionics..
sheesh, this is a glich.. nothing more, a blip in history. The next Ronald Reagon will restore the dream. Give it another 4 to 8 years.
Was never in the GOP...I think I might be too conservative to be affiliated with the Republican party. Since I’ve been old enough to vote (Clinton’s first term), the GOP has not fielded a true enough conservative to sway me into the fold. I will remain an independent.
I’ve already told GOP to GO P!
I agree! And find a conservative that we can ALL support!
I left in ‘92 when Pat got dissed, and voted for Perot - not gonna make that mistake again...
It is a long war, and this is a battle, you are right. Suppose McCain loses out to Hillary or Obama this year. Then conservatives will want to gear up and plan for the 2010 mid terms and 2012 presidential election. And if McCain wins, hes getting old, he may not run for re-election in 2012.
Things can change. Bobby Jidal lost his first bit for governor to that loser Blanco in Louisiana. But, the next time he ran he got over 50% of the vote. The conservatives won out in LA - it can be done!!! So, let’s rally and do it. We will have 4 years to look for someone worthy. We also need to send a message RINO’s need not apply!
I won't change my registration at this point, but I'm voting third party or staying home this year.
