Zot me if you wish, but after all the vitriol towards me on FR, the last two GOP candidates left are McCain and Huckabee, the irony was too good to pass up.
JMO, but a lot of Freepers acted like the left with their stern demand that every person must adhere to a 110% litmus test.
With now McCain's sealing up the nomination and blaming everyone else and their dog, maybe you all should look at yourselves, despite the claims of 20 million listeners or being a top web site, the results are in and your brand of conservatism is not selling where it counts, the GOP primaries.
Jorge Bush created the Teddy Kennedy Kennedy Wing of the Republican Party. John McCain passes the litmus test of that wing. That test is amnesty. It is not about Rush.
Their brand is not really conservatism, it’s more of a populist entertainment anyways. While I like and respect Limbaugh and his copiers, they are in fact entertainers foremost.
N/T
What has happened is not that our brand of conservatism has been rejected. Polls show we are the majority on immigration, amnesty, spending, defense, and a bunch of other issues.
The primary process has been hijacked by the liberals. Most Republicans did not vote for McCain, independents did.
The system was created this time to allow two liberals.
Read the results.
You’ve always been a mushy moderate. None of us are surprised by your actions. You should also not expect respect when none is deserved.
Let's just open our borders and let in all the world's people who just want to work. Not just the brown ones that you want to exploit, but the really bad-off ones who aren't fortunate enough to live next to us. Let's fly them in from around the world so Dane can save fifty cents an hour and not hire actual Americans.
Boy howdy.
Where DOES a girl begin????
(go back to sleep, you obviously need it...)
“The middle way is no way at all. If we are to fail at this endeavor, it will be by groping after some middle way.” - John Adams
Enjoy your turd sandwich, and wash it down with a glass of Huckster.
What a pitiful spectacle at FR of all places when crap like this is posted and allowed to stand as an insult to all those who don’t buy into the liberal loving lefties agenda and don’t buy all the lies of hucksters, maniacs and idiots posing as conservatives. arsewipes.
Conservatism is not a passing fad or fashion that goes in and out of style as zeitgeist winds may blow. It is, and always is a constant that everyone must return to in the end. Neo-cons, compassionate-conservatives, right wing ideologues need not apply. The basic human right of personal freedom and liberty never go out of style.............
WHAT a surprise.
Coming here with a post straight out of third grade.
Looking forward to Hillary? Just could NOT wait, huh?
How utterly juvenile.
NOT ONE PENNY!!!, will be our battle call.
I STILL WON'T SUPPORT McCAIN!!!
Conservatives care about the United States so much ...
that they're willing to DEFEAT McCain to save the nation!!!
McCain needs to wake up and smell the "VILE"!!!
"Bipartisanship" Is A Dirty Word; and RUSH: "We want to defeat them"
THIS IS WAR!!!
The only LEADERSHIP we have is RUSH!!!
McCain will lose by a landslide in November. The Republicans are not in the race.
Who was your guy? Ron Paul?
Just tacky.
Romney should have waited until after CPAC to “suspend”. Now McCain can give the “here’s mud in your eye” speech rather than the “Reagan Foot Soldier and appealing to Conservatives speech”
Ummm...
The principles of “our” conservatism—fiscal discipline, capitalism, strong borders, strong defense, morality, limited government, and personal freedom—ARE NOT WRONG. They are right, and we know they’re right because they’re what brought this country from where it was to where it is today as the greatest power in the world.
Our problem is, we don’t have anybody who can properly package and sell these principles to the general public and get themselves elected. Especially when they have to go around a totally biased mass media to do it. Ronald Reagan wasn’t always a 100% doctrinaire “true conservative”, but he was pretty darn close. More than that, though, he really was the Great Communicator; he got his message out. He didn’t pander, changing his message to fit the audience; instead, he convinced the audience to come to HIS way of thinking. He didn’t move left to try and gather up “moderates”; his message resonated with the moderates and they believed in it and became more conservative.
We need to stand firm in our principles. Never give up on them, BECAUSE THEY ARE RIGHT.
