Ideas & Agenda for the GOP Party Today
All four remaining GOP presidential candidates attend the 2008 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Sen. John McCain (AZ), Rep. Ron Paul (TX), and Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney (MA) address and seek conservative support at nation's largest annual gathering. Fmr. Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR) speaks at CPAC on Saturday

I was all for Fred and I think the charge is very accurate. All summer long he was going to announce soon, only to delay his announcement a little longer. This had the effect of diminishing interest in other conservative candidates and potentially keeping others from even entering the race. When he finally, entered the race he gave us way too little...way too late. Meanwhile, McCain, Huckabee and Romney were building up their campaigns. The result is a McCain candidacy.
As I stated in an earlier reply. I respect Romney's decision to drop out. He really had no choice. But I'm not convinced McCain is the answer. This move today will begin the unifying of the GOP. How many conservatives are willing to jump on the McCain express and accept him as the party standard bearer, is anyones guess at this point.
I'm still taking a wait and see attitude, but I definitely don't won't to see Hillary or Obama as POTUS/CIC. That would be seriously detrimental to America`a national security interests. Not to mention the infusion of liberalism throughout the nation and the government. We shall see.
I’m not sure who Hensarling is?
I would be out of my mind....well, all this is driving me there anyhow.
Leni.......(fortunate in getting to vote in Florida)

They are the opposite of Liberal Conservatives
“If McCain had a brain, he would pick Romney for VP!”
On the Obama factor -
My thought is Michael Steele of Maryland. Get him in the picture early so he get out in front of the people / cameras’.
Just a thought.
Yeah, that’s the ticket, LOL.
My hunch is that Mitt’s family had a lot to do with this decision, and the same goes for Fred.
Having only audio was great. Mitt was coming from the heart.
:-(
Your parents never taught me that either
Jesus did
They are His words...not mine
You dont act like your parents taught you, though
if you were taught to forgive regardless
You attack other Christians in these threads over someone you have never met
I have never attacked you, and I wouldnt
Romney should be the VP but I doubt McCain will assent. Like Ford’s unwillingness to choose Reagan, mcCain would rather lose.
Hugs back.
I agree. Rush wimped out on us big time.
I’m glad you voted for him. He was a great President.
I still maintain that he would have been destroyed here. We can look back now and see that he meant it when he changed his position on things, but at the time of his candidacy, he would have been cruxified here.
“You can be assured that conservatives, and yes, countless Republicans across the nation where primaries are yet to be held are furious and raging that the GOP candidate has been annointed before they ever had a chance to vote, or had a chance to participate in our party’s nominee selection, or to have a voice AT ALL because of this crazy primary process.”
Well, that’s the Repubicans’ take-control man, John McCain, who will take your right to choose your own candidate.
Here’s a link to an interesting discussion between Cavuto and Ann Romney about the “fatigue” factor (from her MS) and campaigning. I imagine if there was no hope he’d win, it’d be better that he got out sooner rather than later.

Thanks for trying...these people are really getting on my nerves.
I'm reminded of that Albert Brooks comment to Holly Hunter in Broadcast News: "It must be nice being perfect." (Or words to that effect.)
I suspect he will pick someone from Florida or Texas. He needs FL to win.
CSPAN has gone back to Senate coverage. I guess they'll switch back over at 3:00 when Senator Mc**** is scheduled to speak (read: "lie") to the CPAC audience.
