Hensarling is not getting too much enthusiasm for his plea to support the nominee, who would be “a thousand times better than Clinton or Obama on their best day.” Nuh-uh, Jeb. Not gonna fly.

Mitt and the Romney family...a real class act. I'm so sad, too.

Just ignore them. There are always mean spirited people who enjoy when others suffer, even when it may be at their own hand.

Let ‘em go.

Pray for them.

Your candidate, McStain, is the one who would suppress free speech, Not-Reagan Man.

Look, Romney, McCain or Huckabee are not Reagan conservatives. Neither was Bush43. I wanted Fred, or better yet, Dick Cheney to be the GOP nominee. Not gonna happen.

I don’t know who is gonna become the next POTUS, but if its Hillary or Obama, America is in deep trouble. On that issue, I agree with Mitt Romney.

Vote Ron Paul. The only conservative left on the ballot!

You are wrong. Many Freepers consider Mitt Romney a great conservative. How’s that for free speech?:)

Your candidate, Fred Thompson, dropped out a looong time ago, btw. Are you one of those who will “write in his name” on the ballot?

I only asked a question in response to your comment.
Do you know for a fact that he has speechwriters?
Please try to be calm, no need to get upset.

Yup. And he ran for the Presidency in 76. Given you and your cronies’ attacks, there is very little doubt that you would have been tearing him apart for “flip-flopping” and being a closet dem 14 years prior.

FR would have tried to assure that ex-Democrat Reagan would have been beaten.

It was a GREAT speech, IMHO. Actually, for me, the first time I didn’t get the smarmy ‘used car salesman’ vibe. I was for Fred, from before he decided to give it a go. I never cared much for Mitt. Sadly, the day he may have converted me is the day he suspended his campaign.

I’m sad that Mr. Romney is stepping aside and disgusted at the devolution of intelligent debate by presumed conservatives. I’ll continue to do my part for conservatism on my own.

Mr. Robinson, please delete my account and cancel my monthly contributions—effective immediately. Thank you.

The wounds will not heal for me.

The public records/statements of McCain and Huckabee were enough for me to step away from them as candidates. The statements by some of their supporters guarantees that I will not stand side by side with them for anything.

That was the best speech I ever heard from Mitt..it was superb.

It reminded me of the best speech I ever heard from Fred- the night he lost South Carolina.

Something a shrink might have fun with- but the day they walked away were the two best speeches from them..

>>>>>How many people would drop out for the Country while at war?

Come on now. He may have mentioned that as a reason for dropping out and it does have some viability. But it wasn't the biggest reason. Folks have to face the facts. Romney had no chance of winning the nomination. Neither does Huckabee for that matter.

Time to move on.

Romney’s speech was one of the best I have ever heard, it was very much Reaganesque. I am disappointed deeply but my respect for him has only grown. I will not be listening to Rush for a very long time. He could have helped Romney so much. No courage Rush. Your bully pulpit has too many conditions.

Yes, we got the whole speech here. The local station interrupted a couple of times, I think they’re required to, but we got all of what Mitt said loud and clear. *Sniffle, sniffle.*

He did say he looks forward to speaking to the convention in future.

I’m thinking he’ll try again if we can survive the next four years. Super Tuesday didn’t turn out as well as expected for him, and I don’t blame him for dropping out. Family is supremely important to him, I can see that too.
