I dont know if that would go over so well with all those racist conservatives. /s
I doubt Condi would go for this pandering business towards conservatives—now if SHE were running for Prez, I’d vote for her in a heartbeat!! Is it too late for her to jump in the race?!?
(Okay, I’m getting a little bit desperate here with all the non-choices...) :-(
Regards
She’s dangerously incompetent.
So yes, she would be the perfect vice-president for McCain.
Plus, she is loyal to President Bush, so it’s unlikely she has any affinity for McCain.
Typical Democratic bean-counting racist. Go back to the party that spawned you and leave us alone.
Baloney! Rice is a middle aged unmarried woman, why? Rice is also not particularly warm and approachable. This is a bad idea.
Guaranteed loser in November.
There should have been a lot of head rolling at State, and she should have been among the first kicked out the door.
Again, I’m left wondering why Republicans want advice from someone who considers the fact that they’ve supported McCain to mean that they have “sold their soul to the devil”....that pretty much sums up how they feel about Republicans in the first place...and really...John McCain...if that’s too conservative for you, then chances are you are only paying lip service to “supporting” him in the first place and can’t wait to rush out and vote for whichever Democrat wins the nomination.
We’ve already had the Dems choose our presidential candidate for us, might as well have them tell us who to run as the veep, too.
>>Nice try Dem, Condi is over her head as Secretary of State.
Regards<<
Not to mention that McCain would be better with somebody that has a strong economic background - Rice and McCain would be two foreign policy types.
But this article is a long winded way to say “get a black to fight a black” and America really ought to be better than that.
So, Derfner is playing the race/gender card for the Republicans. Thanks but no thanks.
So true, but you wouldn’t know that by listening to most. I can’t name a thing the woman has done, not one. I doubt any of those promoting her know one thing about her stand on most of the issues. They know she is black and a woman, that is what they know. They think that will somehow counter Obama and Pantsuit? If so, they have not been paying attention to how the woman has been denigrated by Liberals and Socialists who ‘Uncle Tom” any minority who doesn’t agree with them.
Condi’s a State Dept functionary, that’s all.
Re: she’s worthless.
Interesting proposal.
I loath McCrook but am curious what a Rice or Powell VP ticket might do for him...
There are many voters that can’t get beyond gender and race. This would “level the playing field” if I may use their socially liberal terms.
Bad idea.
First, Condi is closely associated with the decision to invade Iraq and support Bush’s ignorant running of that war. She hasn’t any foreign policy achievements to help her shine and much to the contrary.
Second, I’m not so sure that conservative Republicans and Democrats are ready to support a minority female.
Third, while she may be more telegenic than Hillary (to some), she is perceived to be almost as arrogant.
Fourth, she is not a great deliverer of the stump speech nor effectiove sound bites. She speaks too calculated and seems to flaunt her education.
This idea won’t fly.
Third,
Sorry ... Rice is associated with Bush. Plus, we need someone with executive experience, and someone who would help the ticket connect with conservatives. The obvious choices are Tom Pawlenty, Mark Sanford and Haley Barbour. If we absolutely must have a woman, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, who is featured in this month’s Vogue magazine.
Just what we need. A vice-president we had to threaten into office.
I know that the vice-presidency is mainly ceremonial, but I would still hope that the qualifications for the job are not merely race and gender. Regardless of what Derfner thinks.
