An Idea that may get the RNC's attention
Self | 2-6-2008 | Self

For those conservatives who feel betrayed by the Republican Party, I have just two words -- Money Talks. Write to the RNC and tell them that this year you will be sending your RNC contributions to Romney. Don't just do it. Tell the "powers that be" that you're doing it. If enough members act, I think the big boys will start getting the message.

I’m a conservative first and foremost. None of the candidates are conservatives. The republican party has left the conservative base. Neither McCain or Romney are worthy of my vote. Stay home? Write in Duncan Hunter? Vote for Huckabee? I’ll do any of these before casting a vote for moderates in conservative clothing... It’s a liberal victory no matter which side “wins” ... At least with a democrat in office they can’t as easily blame the conservatives for the mess they make of the nation.

Hehe, never said I was a genius, you must read to much into EVERYTHING. Support a fraud all you want , but I will call a spade a spade. I am not required yet to mollify YOUR feelings or anyone else’s about the dimwits who punched for a fraud. But vote for an open borders taxer they did, just because he said with his Gomer grin “Eyez a Kristain”. They love Rick Warren too, a lot of the churches I have been to embraced him as tightly as he did Assad. Just like in my state of Georgia they have embraced a governor on slightly right of of the last leftist radical that occupied the mansion. Cuz he said he was a conservative.Spiritual discernment goes a long way past the collection plate.

State parties can lock out the other party. The Republican Party in California did. Of course, with all the illegals registered as Independents, it did no good.

Once McLame is officially the nominee, I’m reregistering as an Independent after being a Repub for over 25 years. It’s just too embarrassing to remain in a party that no longer represents my views. Borrowing from a similar statement by President Reagan, “I didn’t leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me.”

This is my plan as well. I've been a registered Republican for 25 years, from the very instant I could vote! I remember being 5 years old, going door to door with my Dad to hand out campaign literature for Republicans back in Mineeapolis.

I think a mass exodus of registered voters would be more of a wake up call to the GOP than anything else. Money is short term...voters are the future.

I sent $$ to Romney, and I thank him for staying in this race, hopefully until the convention to hold whomever’s feet to the fire.

And face it, Thompson didn’t show a lot of enthusiasm.

I maybe misunderstanding this part of your comment but if you consider none of the GOP candidates are Conservative and Huckabee is a candidate then how can you consider voting for him?

I’m doing the same thing. Going Independent and told the GOP to remove my name from their membership roll. If enough people did that, they would take notice.

How about electing conservatives to serve on the RNC?

I'll bet you that there are not one in 20 on the VERY conservative website who actually KNOW how those who serve on the RNC get there!

Today Rush asked a caller if she knew the name of the RNC chairman. She didn’t know and Rush confessed that he didn’t know either. But they both knew who the Dem counterpart was.

So -— where have they been! (The RNC?) Just on the phone asking for $$$$$$s -?

The proper way to do this is to have a Ten Million Dollar check ready, only missing the signature.

After some of the endorsements and comments I’ve seen, I’m not sure who actually IS conservative in the party. Many I thought were have shown themselves to be otherwise.

I agree with Kevmo. Romney is the same.

My suggestion.... John R. Bolton (write in)

It is what I plan to do - Im sorry but for me I will not vote for someone just because they are 'electable'.

We need to elect a true conservative leader.

Now that the Rinos have taken the reins of the Republican party, we may have to accept that theirs is the new face of the GOP.

We could stop calling them Rinos. That would leave us to inventing some name for us true conservatives still well within the midst of this corrupted Republican party.

Since we will be disagreeing with the way the party bosses are steering toward Democrats, then Maybe now we can start calling ourselves “The New Rinos”, or “Neo-Rinos.”

WE will be Republican in name only. And seizing at each opportunity , we will eventually turn things right and wrangle the party back into our hands.

Yes and "Conservatives" get elected to run THE MOST Liberal state in the union all the time. Not to mention represent them with lifetime seats in the US Senate.

Mitt Romney is no conservative. The only time he acts like one is when he is addressing conservatives.

Until he goes to talk with non conservatives. Whichever way the wind is blowing.

That's a real conservative for you. /s

If Romney were a Conservative he never would have flip flopped on key issues such as abortion, embryonic stem cell research or opposed a marriage protection amendment prohibiting and civil unions while Governor.

Agree totally. Suicide voting is bit extreme for my taste, but I definitely want to send a message and have a clear conscience in terms of the groups to which I belong and am therefore associated with and labeled by. I have no intention of giving any money to a party that would nominate a liberal to represent it, although I still plan to vote in the general to support candidates that ARE conservative in congressional and local races - most of which will probably be Republicans of course (for now anyway).

I no longer want an "(R)" next to my name. As I said before, it's now an embarrassing designation. Once I'm an "(I)" I feel like I'll be able to more objectively look at the candidates in the general election, knowing that neither one is "mine", and then hold my nose and vote for one or the other without feeling any kind of pressure. No more "for the good of the party BS". Screw "the party" on principle, whether it's the Marxist Democrats or the Socialist Republicans. Come election time it'll be, let's see... will it be Satan (D) or Beelzebub (R) or Other.

Your point is good and valid. Huckabee is not a conservative (or at least is not conservative enough to have earned the adjective in my opinion). In my comment I was alluding to the lesser “conservative vote crime” between the candidates available.
