For those conservatives who feel betrayed by the Republican Party, I have just two words -- Money Talks. Write to the RNC and tell them that this year you will be sending your RNC contributions to Romney. Don't just do it. Tell the "powers that be" that you're doing it. If enough members act, I think the big boys will start getting the message.
Got a problem with people who work for their wealth? Sounds like class envy.
Why would I lie to them? I have no intention of sending the RNC or McCain or Hucklebutt or Romney or Paul any money. My contributions go to conservatives.
So save your "class envy" shtick for some other place.
True, there are Republicans voting for McLame, but he has yet to win a majority of the registered Republican vote in any state. He is getting a ton of votes from independents, and in many cases Democrats who cross over.
In Florida nearly 20% of his vote were those that had changed their party from D to RD (perfectly legal in Florida) and they can now switch back.
And, where there is a caucus the peeples do not even vote. And we all saw the underhanded, backroom dealing between McLame and Huckster that handed West Virginia to Huckster after Romney won the first delegate vote. The voters of West Virginia had nothing to do with that.
As many have pointed out here, too many of the early states that vote are liberal states, even if they are red states. The Republican leadership has done nothing over the years to pressure truly conservative states to move their primaries up to balance out the playing field.
Also, McLame has received the equivalent of millions of dollars of free, POSITIVE publicity from the media. Their obvious and blatant attempt at manipulation. And, to an extent, it has worked.

As an Illinois Republican conservative, this election cycle is purely a spectator sport. Hopeless, helpless, worthless, senseless, meaningless....you get the picture.

Ironically, I had just started to donate again after refusing to give any money to the RNC during the illegal immigration push last year.

We have states getting penalized half their delegates by having their primaries before Super Tuesday. What about an additional penalty? Any state with an open primary or caucus also loses half its delegates. Make it cumulative too.
Party heads? How many votes did they have?
Let's do a little reality check. The rest of us Republican voters minus the party heads had hundreds of thousands of votes. And look who is winning.
In my humble opinion the Republican voters are getting as bad as the Democrat voters.

I’m sending McCain a quarter and telling him to call someone who gives a sh*t about his campaign, and when he can’t find anyone who will listen, to give me back my quarter.
S.C. and Iowa Republicans are usually pretty conservative. I don’t think national Republican leadership decides what and when states vote. That’s usually decided by the state.
Or, better yet.. send NO contributions.

Yes, you are right. That is why I did not say that the RNC, the Republican leadership should change the primary system.
I did say the Republican leadership has not pressured them into changing. The leadership can pressure them, or negotiate with them. It is ultimately up to the state to change their primary (or caucus) in any way.
Look at the DNC: They pressured Florida into NOT changing their primary date. The state did anyway, as is their right. So, the DNC stripped Florida of its delegats, which they can do. That is pressure.
My point stands: The RNC, the Republican leadership seems to be very happy with the way the primary season is set up for Republicans. This is why they are not, have not, advocated balancing out the primary system by having truly conservative states vote along with liberal leaning states.
