Ok, the GOP is heading for disaster this November.
Just for the sake of conversation who do people like for president in 2012? Here is a list of conservatives who might make a race out of 2012:
General David Petraeus
Senator John Thune
Senator John Ensign
Senator Jim DeMint
Governor Don Carcieri
Governor Mark Sanford
Governor Bobby Jindal
Governor Haley Barbour
Oh, and how about replacing Iowa and New Hampshire in the Republican nomination with more reliably conservative medium sized states such as Colorado and Nevada going first and second respectively and allowing ONLY registered Republicans to vote in the primary?

Lincoln Chafee.
But then again, given recent trends, he’d probably be far too conservative for the GOP by 2012.

What do you know about John Kasich from Ohio? I always liked him but I don’t know enough about his views or if he has abandoned politics.

I need a job so I'm tossing my hat in the ring. Vote for Hot Tabasco and I'll cut your taxes, build a wall, deport every single person who is here illegally, spank Iran, let our military be the sole deciders on how to deal with Iraq, slap Nancy Pelosi, punch out John McCain and send him back to Sun City to spend his remaining days with the other retirees, cut off all federal funds to California, punch out Arnold Schwarznegger, begin immediate drilling in ANWR with protection by the National Guard if necessary, reappoint John Bolten and his assistant CM Punk to the United Nations, call an immediate session of KYOTO to tell them to take their business somewhere else, since Iran ignored our spanking we'll bomb them.
I haven't ran out of ideas, only time...........
If you have any other good ideas, I'm willing to read them and probably put them to use.
Remember: Hot Tabasco for PRESIDENT!
Oops, forgot, force William Clay Ford to sell the Detroit Lions to Mike Ilitch.....that should get me the Michigan vote.......probably not Detroit tho

What do you know about John Kasich from Ohio? I always liked him but I dont know enough about his views or if he has abandoned politics. I know about as much as you probably do. Always liked him over the years. Seemed to be a straight shooter. President? Well I just can't see him as President but maybe that's just me. But he's a good man and you're onto something. We need someone who can convince people in swing states like Ohio and Florida.

I liked Duncan Hunter until he endorsed the Huckster! Huckabee is a liberal. If Hunter likes him, there is something wrong with Hunter.
No more Bushes. No more Clintons.

Sanford and Gingrich are both members of the Global Warmist Cult, so forget them. Thune endorsed McCain this time around, so no thanks.

There is already a Conservative Party in the US. Not sure if it is in all states yet though.

How can the Republican Party, with a huge base of conservatives, nominate a candidate who hates them and who they despise?

Sen. John Cornyn from Texas. A very good conservative and will be age 60 in 2012.

But what if McCain wins in 2008? All the more reason to figure out who we'd run in 2012.

Whatever happens in 2012, we need to change the primary process. A lot of us haven’t even gotten to vote, and we have zero choice now.

Well Reagan is an example of what I am talking about. Reagan ran the state of California (and not just his mouth like some candidates) and more importantly Reagan could speak well and persuade. He could bring people into the big tent.
