If the unfortunate possibility of a McCain nomination comes to pass, I will not work for his election to the presidency, nor will I defend him in ad hoc conversations. He is wholly unworthy for that high office, and it is intolerable for my conscience to abide supporting him.
I will face two options once in the voting booth: 1) cast my ballot for a third party candidate, or 2) simply not vote in the presidential election.
I am curious who among you share my sentiments.
The federalist society, headed by Calabresi, endorsed McCain as the candidate most likely to appoint constructionalist justices.
Stop being so cynical.
You don’t have to like the guy, but you don’t cut off the nose to spite the face!
Agreed...it is just a matter of how fast the country goes down. Also, it could be said that the Dems are becoming the new socialist/communist/progressive party, and the GOP is becoming the Dem party of the 1960’s.
I behoove any disgruntled folks to at least go vote for conservative congress critters who we’ll need to stand against Clinton, who will beat McCain like a drum in Nov when McCain learns he can’t win without the conservative base.
Aye
Please see earlier post this evening about GIVING THE STINKING ‘I’LL NEVER VOTE FOR MCCAIN.’ VANITY POSTS A REST. someone please post a link.
Show me, by McCain’s actions (not his words) that he would nominate conservatives to the bench. I don’t mean simply supporting the party to be a team player for once in his life, but energetically supporting a conservative.
On my list of reasons not to vote for Juan McQueeg is how he smeared the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Unforgivable.
No one made you click the link, did they?
I’ll write in the republican who deserved the nomination. 100% republican ticket! The RINOs should be happy with that.
Two more here that are not voting for McCain. Go Hillary!
We should not stay home. We need to find a third party candidate that we can support, and vote third party. It's important we vote for the conservative congress critters..all RINOS need to be voted out!
McCain's adviser said the conservatives will come back to McCain to keep Hillery from winning. They need to see once and for all, that you can't spit on us and then still expect for us to vote for you. You can't stab your Party in the back, time and time again, and then expect us to come back because you are the lesser of two evils.
It takes a Carter to get a Reagan.
Besides, if we actually got a conservative to run third party, I bet they would do quite well!
Who’s cryin over cryin now?
I’ll never vote for McCain either.
Maybe we should just cancel it and start working on 2012.
I was of the same mindset , but everytime I see Barry O’ , and the Shrill give one of their speeches , I look at the screaming lunatics that are cheering all around them and almost think I’ll be compelled to support McPain if I have to .
2) simply not vote in the presidential election.
McCain and his supporters can try to win the General Election without 30% to 40% of the conservative base because we told them he was never getting our votes. They left the conservative movement by voting for someone that they knew was too far left. It was not up to us to puke a little in our mouths and pull the lever for a man who hates conservatives. It wasn't up to us to forgive his constant and repetitive disloyalty to the constitution (McCain-Feingold & McCain-Kennedy). It wasn't up to us to compromise on our principles. It was up to them to choose someone else - and they didn't. So they can hoe that row themselves, with just their votes and just their money.
