Serious question. John McCain has a conservative rating of something like 88%. He is a "maverick" who genuinely seems more comfortable working with Democrats. John McCain has dissed conservatives on numerous occasions and authored such abhorent legistaion such as McCain/Feingold. He is for open borders (depending on the day you ask him).
Now, Sam Brownback, Tom Coburn, Phil Gramm, Jack Kemp, Ted Olson, Richard Land, and perhaps Nancy Reagan have either formally endorsed or have voiced support for John McCain? Why are these people endorsing McCain??
Seriously, I cannot grasp this. Why do I have this big disconnect? I do not want John McCain. Why is he being rammed down our throats?
Is it simply "his turn"? Is it because there is no alternative now? Why didn't more people jump on the Fred bandwagon? Do we really want Bob Dole 2.0?
The MSM have had a love afair with McCain as they do with RINOs like Chuck Hagel, Richard Lugar, or any other "Republican" willing to spit on other Republicans. McCain seriously considered switching Parties. McCain was seriously considered as John Kerry's running mate. What's going on?
Thanks for the video showing the REAL McCain.
I agree with you there.
...Or President Obama.
I might add so are the people endorsing him.
Thats how stuff works in DC. You shmooze and throw back a few drinks with your pinky finger extended...
You network and when its time to call on people you can pull them aside by the arm and make promises.
Especially in this case you can make LOADS of promises if you are McCain.
And to those other guys if he wins the election they in effect all get promotions.
A backroom deal was made with the party elites:

Why didn’t more people jump on the Fred bandwagon?

I don’t know but because they didn’t, we will get McCain
Political welfare system... they all get government checks...
Government millionaires who could never make it in private life...
Political welfare system... they all get government checks...

...Or because he is OWED the position.
...Even Sen. McCain said he could end up doing only 4 years.
It is because, in a very unpleasant atmosphere awaiting Republicans in November, McCain actually has a chance to win. Here is a clip from William Kristol’s column yesterday. I hope this answers your question.
“Dont pretend theres no difference between a candidate whos committed to winning in Iraq and a Democratic nominee who embraces defeat. Dont tell us that it doesnt matter if the next president voted to confirm John Roberts and Samuel Alito for the Supreme Court, or opposed them.”
How can so many people be wrong? Don't they listen to Rush and Coulter?
I realize that McCain couldn’t carry Gerald Ford’s jock strap. What I meant is that this election will result in a similar outcome, because the moderate/liberal wing of the GOP is going to keep the conservatives away from the polls. And they will suffer a huge defeat.
“They think hes winning, and they want a job if hes elected.”
that’s 100% of the reason
Thanks for showing some sanity in this thread
They may be Republicans, but they’re not conservative.
Under GWB the Republican party and its leaders and elected reps have hijacked the party away from the voters. We have seen this take place on several issues:Judges, Immigration, etc.. I suggest we vote them ALL out, and start fresh. As long as we continue to vote the current bunch back in office, nothing will change.
Because both Rush and Mark stand for their principles.
Well....he's the version of Ford and Dole, minus the character, geniality, mental stability, likeability, humor, loyalty, steadfastness...I could go on, but I don't want to hog the bandwidth.
