That is why you have primaries. So that a nominee is determined.

The primary is almost over and it is time to rally around ONE person. That person will be McCain, for better or worse. Democrats are the enemy, NOT MCCAIN!

You obviously MISSED the point of the post. It is NOT time to rally around ONE person. Most primary votes have not occurred yet. The time to give forethought to one's decision is BEFORE one pulls the level! And that decison does not have to be until the last moment.

The primaries are not almost over. I live in Indiana and we don’t have the primary till May. Frankly, I’m offended that all the other idiots around the country have left us with a fool like McCain. He’s your candidate, you vote for him. I will not vote for him.

An intelligent observation which is quite rare these days.

The primary is almost over and it is time to rally around ONE person. That person will be McCain, for better or worse.

Let's see... how about NO.

McCain/Kennedy
McCain/Feingold
McCain/Lieberman
No on Bush Tax cuts
Consideration of VP for John Kerry
Keating 5
Global Warming
NY Times endorsement
LA Times Endorsement
Opposed federal gay marriage (before realizing the consequences)
Pro choice(before realizing the consequences)

McCain’s the candidate of amnesty for illegal aliens.
McCain supports embryonic stem-cell research.
McCain has said “I would not support repeal of Roe vs. Wade”.
McCain opposed the Bush tax cuts, and refuses to sign the “No New Taxes” pledge.
McCain supports legislation that would increase taxes on energy.
McCain was the ring-leader of the Senate “Gang of 14”, which kept the then Senate Republican leadership from ending the ability of Democrats to filibuster Bush’s judicial nominees.
McCain supports legislation to grant due-process rights to terrorists.
McCain sponsored the inept legislation which restricts free-speech rights of those involved in the political process, (the McCain/Feingold bill)
McCain called evangelical-conservatives an “evil influence” on the Republican Party.
McCain - member of the Keating 5 that caused a bipartisan scandal during the S&L meltdown.
McCain had a recall election ran against him by the conservatives in Arizona.
McCain blocked the investigation into whether Viet Nam and the Soviets were still holding over 600 of our missing POWs in 1990.

(Credit to the two FReepers that put this together, I don't recall which but they know who they are and they don't drink the kool-aid.)

I am so sick of hearing the 'if we don't support the GOP nominee' rhetoric! We are in the position we are now because the GOP settled for someone who's allegedly electable, but only because he's more liberal than what a GOP candidate should be. Supporting McCain now will only reinforce what the fools running the party now believe- that in order to beat the Democrats, the Republicans must become more liberal.

And that is out and out bullsh!t. You do NOT advance conservatism by becoming more liberal. It never works. Rest assured, the GOP will never recover from this annoitment of McCain. Never.

Conservatives didn't choose McCain. He was chosen by the MSM, the RNC, the GOP good old boys, and the RINOs who support them. And yes, damn it, there's a great many freepers who are enablers to this pathetic line of reasoning.

So all of you out there, that fall into the categories above, go ahead, hold your nose and vote for McCain. I will proudly write in a candidate. But I will never, EVER, vote for McCain (or Huckabee).

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

And I'm tired of falling for the same old sob story. Hillary or McCain in the White House won't be the fault of those of us who held onto principle over pomp, substance over style... It will be YOUR fault.

The enemy is anyone who's willing to trash the Constitution for political gain.

Mc Cain is there because the independants voted him in and gave him head way for super tuesday

not one state so far as Mc Cain got the republican vote, even in my state Florida he won it because an influx of people changed their party to vote for him, mainly independants and hispanics, no guessing why hispanics voted for him

sorry but I cannot for a person who has fought against the party since 2000, he is still bitter about losing and that is not a man I want to see in the white house as that stubborness and unwilling to listen to others is dangerous for this country

I cannot and won’t ignore his liberal votes either

I along with my family have principles and he has gone against everyone of those and I cannot vote against my principles

I’d like to point out that Rudy Guiliani and Mike Bloomberg are also Republicans.

The fact that they have attached a certain label to themselves does not make them less of an enemy to conservatism or to the Republican Party.

That’s preposterous. If we accept this shortsigthed notion as truth, then we should all stay home on Tuesday, or whenever your primary is held.

McCain and his crowd (and a large portion of the media) are saying that McCain is already the annointed one. But, the votes ain’t been counted, yet.
The primary process is still in play, and now is the time for all of us to examine candidates, examine their positions, and settle on the one that best represents our interests and views. Let’s have a valid primary, casting votes for our choice, not pulling the levers for those we’re told are already determined to be ‘winners’.

Don’t abrogate your responsibility to this grand experiment.

Compromise and Surrender on protecting the states from invasion?

Already done...

McCain is a traitor.

You rally with McCain if he’s clearly the candidate. The fat lady hasn’t sung, though. The Republican primary is far from over.
