Austin, TX -- A 7-year-old boy who was found injured, hanging from a hook in a bathroom at NYOS charter school, died at 2:33 p.m. Friday, Austin police confirmed.
KXAN Austin News on Wednesday reported the child may have suffered from a heart attack. Police said he was in cardiac arrest from a lack of oxygen from the hanging.
The Austin Police Department said the boy was found injured under "suspicious circumstances."
Police said the boy was found hanging by his shirt on a hook in the gym locker room bathroom with his pants down and underwear on. The incident happened at Magnolia McCullough Elementary, one of three NYOS campuses in Austin.
Frankly I would be surprised if this is anything more than just a silly prank gone bad, really bad. As bad as a prank can go. Im sure kids in that school have seen the same treatment given a kid on TV and the laugh track made it seem hilarious....
&&
My thoughts exactly. This is the kind of junk that passes for humor on TV these days.
Well,as long as you left his pants on, it doesn’t sound like any malice.
Bullies? An accident? Was anyone else involved?
Time will tell.
But for now, I offer up a prayer to the family.
In Jesus Name.
“Bullies...”
At this point there haven’t been any other persons associated with this. There is a theory that he might have done this himself and then not been able to free himself. All speculation at the moment.
I ran into the kid almost 15 years after it happened, and while he was kind of small then, he turned out to be a pretty big dude. It actually came up in conversation and he said he was laughing the whole time, so thankfully he took it well and no lasting emotional scars.
There is a book written long ago which espouses that mankind is flawed from birth. I think it’s called the bible.
Oh, man. :*(
I was praying for the little guy to recover completely.
Prayers for his family and friends, and may the bully who did this be caught before another child dies! :*(
You are absolutely right. Sociopaths are especially abundant in politics (think Hill & Bill), the legal profession (hm..Hill & Bill again, plus John Edwards and thousands of others), the abortion racket, and are even found in law enforcement. As for "the most audacious lies," the 9/11 truther movement comes to mind.
I suggest you google "gang stalking" or "terrorist stalking in America." You will find some flaky stuff, but there can be no doubt any more that sociopathic sadists now operate in organized gangs which may target and torment victims, often to the point of suicide, for years and years. It's the ultimate in "high-tech lynching." I know; I'm a victim.
Hanging someone from a hook with his pants down is a "prank"?
You need to see a shrink.
It's a depraved act of violence.
This makes me sick to my stomach. Someone did this to this poor child. If it was other kids, they need to be charged with murder.
I agree. Kids do some dumb things. Wayyyyy back when I was in the fifth grade in Clyde Texas, we kids were playing chase/catch. The boys caught me and took me over to the next door kids house and tied my hands behind my back, tied a rope around my neck that was tied to the ceiling in the garage and stood me on a bucket. His mom, who had just had a baby and was feeling poorly, nearly had a heart attack when she came into the garage. Game over and I can’t remember if he was ever allowed to play chase/catch again.
Hey, Dusty Rhodes are you still in trouble?
Didn’t something similar to this happen to a child last year?
Likewise, had it been a public school, there would have been many posts saying this is an example of our failed public schools.
It makes me sick as well. I try to limit my comments for that reason. The seven year old’s pants were off and he was hanging. No punishment is too severe here.
Agreed. Unfortunately, it is a different world we live in today. One call from your kid, a friend, a nosy neighbor or suspicious school staff and the Gov invites itself into your home. They know better than you how to raise up a child. Didn’t you get the memo?
Now fess up, are you talking the Dusty Rhodes (aka, Virgil Riley Runnels, Jr.), as in Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch, the Texas Outlaws?
LOL No, his real name was Dusty Rhodes. Blonde hair like snow.
Well, it’s still a good story. I’m a fan of the old-time wrestlers, so the name piqued my interest.
Very scary that we may have a whole lot of little Richard Specks runnng around loose.
It was; but we were never prevented from fighting back. Now both the perpetrator and the victim get punished, and often enough it's the original victim who gets the worst of it. Liberal teachers are a menace to your children.
