HANNITY: And Senator John McCain is gaining momentum, but not all conservatives are jumping for joy. Senator McCain is a polarizing candidate for many. And critics point to his stance on immigration, his work with Russ Feingold. But with a potential Hillary Clinton candidacy on the Democratic side of the aisle, will true conservatives eventually fall in line and support the Arizona senator?
Joining us now, author of the "New York Times" best seller, "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd be Republicans," our friend Ann Coulter. How are you?
ANN COULTER, AUTHOR, "IF DEMOCRATS HAD ANY BRAINS": Fine, thank you.
HANNITY: I'm standing on substance here.
COULTER: Yes.
HANNITY: It's immigration. It's limits on free speech. It's not supporting tax cuts.
COULTER: It's Anwar. It's torture at Guantanamo.
HANNITY: Class warfare rhetoric. It's interrogations. It's Guantanamo. It's Anwar. These are not small issues to conservatives.
COULTER: No, and if you're looking at substance rather than whether it's an R or D after his name, manifestly, if our's candidate than Hillary's going to be our girl, Sean, because she's more conservative than he is. I think she would be stronger on the war on terrorism. I absolutely believe that.
HANNITY: That's the one area I disagree with you.
COULTER: No, yes, we're going to sign up together. Let me explain that point on terrorism.
HANNITY: You'd vote for Hillary --
COULTER: I will campaign for her if it's McCain.

Cool! Gotta go put together an ancient steel guitar for a client before the shop goes sub-freezin’ again. See you around FR.
As to her "shtick"; she pulls people into the contest by occasionally being outrageous.
There is no Conservative to my reckoning that can "throw down" on the DemocRATS and other assorted Liberals, Progressives, and Cosmopolitans the way she does.
When she makes a statement the first reaction is outrage, but those of more sober outlook look behind what she is really doing to see her real point.
My admiration for her is keen.
Too bad Ann refused to get behind the only conservative who could have saved us from this mess.

I seriously doubt that Ann would vote for hillary.
I think I feel like she does in that if mccain is the leader of the Republican Party, the party will no longer stand for what I believe. If mccain wins (which I really doubt)there will be shambles left in 4 years, the party will have no credibity or chance of winning.
The MSM and the dems have spent the entire Bush term brainwashing everyone into believing that conservatism is dead. I don’t want mccain proving it.

Sleepwalking, are you? :)
I am totally disgusted with the choices left.
Totally agree with Ann. The relationship between the Republican Party and conservatives mirrors that between the democrat party and blacks. Always give the base lip service and say you’re for having one as President, but not this year. Always, at crunch time, find a reason why it’s just not the right race for one of them to run for office. The country’s not ready. It would be too divisive.
Just ask Jesse about 1984 and 1988. On a more local level, consider the experiences of Maynard Jackson and the leadership of the DNC; Alan Page and the vacant MN senator seat; Carl McCall and the NY governor’s race.
When the R party knows in its gut that the base is serious about wanting a conservative, we may actually see a real conservative running. Until then, we just keep giving the democrats in R clothing a pass and one more opportunity to tell us that we’re just not ready for one of “you people” to run.
Screw that. Like an alcoholic or a hype, the country needs to hit rock bottom before kicking the habit. Hillary’s the highway to the bottom.

It is in cross-talk. I have it tivo’d...She clearly says, ‘I’m kidding’.
And you know damn well that if she was a flaming liberal the insults on just her looks would be flying.
If God is a just God, when Islamic terrorists die as martyrs theyll be stuck with 72 shrews like her for eternity, nagging, complaining, and emasculating them forever.
Lol.
At this point I think Ann is just attention whoring and not unlike many in the media who crave attention.
I've read her books and she's a good conservative author; however, I've been less than enthused the past couple years about her as a political pundit. Ann's seems at times to be flying off the handle.
