Reagan Library Republican Presidential Debate: January 30, 2008
SIMI VALLEY, California (CNN) -- Republican presidential hopefuls will face off Wednesday night without a familiar face as ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to drop out and endorse front-runner Sen. John McCain.
The remaining candidates will take the stage in a debate -- sponsored by CNN, the Los Angeles Times and Politico -- beginning at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.
The event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, follows McCain's Tuesday night win in the Florida primary.
McCain topped former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 36 percent to 31 percent in the hotly contested race.
Giuliani placed third with 15 percent of the vote, followed closely by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 14 percent, and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was fifth with 3 percent.
Giuliani is expected to end his White House bid and endorse McCain at a campaign event in California later Wednesday, Republican Party sources said.
Minus Giuliani, the debate will be a four-candidate affair -- McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul -- with CNN's Anderson Cooper moderating.

BTTT
This needs to be plastered all over the place!
Arnold is toast, and so weak he can't even defend his wife.
The audience response factors were HUGELY in favor of Romney tonight... VERY NEGATIVE against McCain..
Exactly.
You mean if McCain is the nominee, you will hold your nose and vote for him? I will in no way vote Democrat so I am torn!
He is definitely the one who I would squeeze my nose the tightest about.
Foolishness, nana.
LOL.......
((Jaycee))
That's what the debate's focus group called him.
CD were you a swiftboater?
.
Just a sec
I’ve got spaghetti sauce...
He may look a lil flabby, but the man is likely in better shape that 99% of the population his age and younger. That being said, no one ever accused Arnold of being a true blue conservative....
Lay off.
I will voice my opinion in any manner I wish...I am a long time Freeper as well. A lot longer than you or her. Get a life...
The undecideds who were
polled at CNN gave Romney
the highest of all .. many
times = 90.
Thought McCain was snarky.
Well, McCain is so tightly wound, maybe he will just explode. The only question is whether he would need to be treated with bandages, or a straight jacket.
Someone on MSNBC just said that Arnold's endorsement won't move the base as they're not favorable towards him. However she added that McCain would probably win CA with or without the endorsement as he's riding a wave now and is popular out there.
That’s disturbing.
The MSM networks covering for McCain is disturbing also. I feel like I’m on an alternate universe, other than the MSM talking heads, discussing the debate tonight. They are relentlessly pushing McCain and praising his performance and talking about his momentum. McCain was horrible tonight.
Ron Paul supports a return to the gold standard. He makes good points, but... is NOT a serious candidate.
I’m sorry, my friend... but you have wasted your money. You would have been better off to purchase pancakes, and a bunny.
Someday I may vote Republican again (without the explicit endorsement of the NRA). I hope it happens again soon, but insults argue little.
