Reagan Library Republican Presidential Debate: January 30, 2008
SIMI VALLEY, California (CNN) -- Republican presidential hopefuls will face off Wednesday night without a familiar face as ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to drop out and endorse front-runner Sen. John McCain.
The remaining candidates will take the stage in a debate -- sponsored by CNN, the Los Angeles Times and Politico -- beginning at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.
The event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, follows McCain's Tuesday night win in the Florida primary.
McCain topped former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 36 percent to 31 percent in the hotly contested race.
Giuliani placed third with 15 percent of the vote, followed closely by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 14 percent, and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was fifth with 3 percent.
Giuliani is expected to end his White House bid and endorse McCain at a campaign event in California later Wednesday, Republican Party sources said.
Minus Giuliani, the debate will be a four-candidate affair -- McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul -- with CNN's Anderson Cooper moderating.

RINO Romney appointed liberal Democrat Judges
Could he pick anyone he wanted, or did he have to nominate from a pool that was pre-screened by Democrats? If the latter, why blame him for the composition of the pool?
________________________________________________
A bit of both
Romney appointed his own board
her put a Planned Parenthood staffer on theboard
He also gave big checks to Planned parenthood
vote how you want but Romneys record is hidden while the others are scrutinized
But vote with your eyes open
As a member of the generation immediately aftyer the great
I feel responsible that we have no candidate that is palatable
Sadly true. Not enough folks tune in or care enough...and still end up voting for the confused, inarticulate, bag of disease and disloyalty that is Senator McCain-Kennedy.
McCaine sure had the straight twisted talk down
Oh, and I almost forgot; Booyah right back at ya.
LOL...where was the spew alert?
Libs HATE him because of the R and his FEW conservative positions. Conservatives hate him (some HATE) because he isn’t McClintok (the immaculate conservative, who would have LOST the general election).
Not only is McCain’s temperment unsuited to the oval office, he is way too old and unhealthy. If anyone doesn’t think that the Clintons will use this if fooling themselves.
Before he runs you compare him to the others. He has been miserable.
As for folks setting up where they sit, I don’t think it was first come first served seating system for Nancy and Arnold.
Church pulpit...bully pulpit. There is a similarity. Huckabee's understanding of Reagan's prime attribute addressed that.
McCain really showed his true colors tonight...should he get the nomination (I truly hope not)..he won’t make it without a total meltdown. Truly arrogant and nasty man.
And very trollish.
MITT ROMNEY!
What a comeback!
Yes, Huck did better than all the rest. Romney did head and shoulders better than McBitter. Ron Paul was Ron Paul.
Romney: Reagan would recognize that it was a disaster that shouldn’t be repeated.
McCain: no comment to that
Paul: no comment to that
Huckabee: Can’t say what Reagan would do today. Gee, maybe he'd be for Obama today. Sheeesh.
You don’t mind if I 2nd that,do ya,,
This coming from a poster that calls Mitt and Huck the Taliban of the party. Am I supposed to take you seriously when your rhetoric is so over the top? I would never say that about any of the Republican candidates because it isn't true.
Go ahead, throw your vote away on Paul, which will be a vote for McCain, the true RINO.
