I propose all who wish to leave the republican party go ahead and register as democrat rather than independent.
Liberals have been working against us for years from within our party, time to return the favor.

"Party above country?" Nah. I just think the country is relatively resilient and can survive Hildabeast. The party cannot survive McCain.
Hillary's failure would strengthen conservatism quite immediately. McCain's co-opting, denigrating and obstructing conservatism will cause a permanent rift. Conservatives must leave the party. There will be a third party. 40 years of Dems.
