You HAD to remind me of all the reasons I dislike McCain, indeed all the positions he holds taht i think are just plain stupid. The ANWR thing is enough to make me pull what's left of my hair out.

But still if the party nominates him he isn't the anti Christ, he is pro life and pro defense, and there are important checks a republican president will put on the democrat Congress.

I know you respect W and he ceratinly has let us down on some big items. We still have to keep the dems out, IF that's even possible. Just IMHO.

I think the blue-blood RINO party leadership has always been uncomfortable with "those" type of people anyway.

Iraq / WOT: McCain is way ahead Romney.. it’s not close
Immigration: Romney’s position wins, but he obviously might shift..
Taxes: Romney seems stronger, but he seems open to spending and big government..
Social Issues: Romney is very liberal.. at least until this election started.

So really, why do you like Romney? He is phoney.. that’s the worst.

The two top headlines on Drudge are inconsistent. If the economy was the dominant issue and conservatives dominated the vote, then the exit polling results CANNOT be accurate. Remember 2004 people?

Paul has said he was not aware of any circumstance in US history that warranted going to war. That means Pearl harbor would not have moved him to make war. Would an actual invasion of the US? Who knows?

Here's my favorite Ron Paul ad, which is the one I made:

IMHO, while Paul has a very few good ideas on domestic issues, he has the foreign policies of Kucinich and the knowledge of Huckabee, with a little Michael Moore thrown in. Search FR - the guy says he'd pull ALL troops home, let the PRC take Taiwan, the ME get overrun, basically ANYTHING happen in the world with no interference, as long as they don't attack the US directly. While that may sound noble, the truth is that with no gasoline to fuel our economy or military, and surrounded on all sides by ChiComs and jihadis, it would be a very short war, and the end of the USA.

Also, I read some interesting posts on FR from some of L. Ron's constituents in TX. They said while he brags about having never signed a spending bill, the truth is that he's never done ANYTHING at all, either towards curbing spending or achieving any goals about which he so often pontificates. They added that he's indeed nuttier than a fruitcake.

Again, it's sad what choices we're left with. To me, L. Ron definitely isn't a viable one though.

And neither is McCain...

I care. One is a hawk, the other isn't.

I am a realist. I live in the real world, with real choices. The American people are not breathlessly swooning for George Bush, let alone for Thompson. Not even active Republicans in primaries are. The country simply isn't as conservative as I am, or you are, and it is going to be a bad year. A failing president of an incumbent party that has been in office a long time, is presiding over a long drawn out, unpopular war that hasn't been finished successfully, and over a weakening economy with high gas prices etc. We will be lucky to come through this with filibuster blocking strength in the senate, let alone control of the white house or a majority in congress.

Pretending is therefore doesn't matter is called giving up and it is pretending, and I don't do that. I live in the real world.
