Morris saying that the exit polls in Florida between Hillary and Obama show a virtual tie for those who voted within 3 days of the election and it's only those who voted earlier, before Obama's surge, that brought her numbers up..

He's also saying that McCain, not Romney, can bring in independents during the general. He thought the closesness of the McCain/Romney wouldn't make a difference but a 5% difference makes McCain the frontrunner. If the guy was batting a thousand I might believe him but he's been wrong more often than right. Seems like yesterday he guaranteed Hillary would win the nomination and be out next President.

What do you mean, where are the conservatives?

_____________________

My context suggests I’m referring to conservative candidates running for president, not voters.

Out of a country this size the best we can do is what we’ve seen this past year? I pulled for Fred, but I have to admit he looked like time had passed him by. Where are the philosophical conservatives who might run for president? I’m tired of these “practical politicians” who sway with the wind. I just don’t know any deep conservative thinkers willing to be president or even an honorable politician.

Well at least we don’t have to hear Huckabee constantly mention that he’s 2nd in the delegate count now.

The thing that hurts about Huck is if he had governed as a true conservative he could have been a world beater.

“Interestingly enough, the man who probably exercised more summary power than any other in the history of the country, Ulysses Grant, had virtually no temper to speak of. No one ever reported having heard Grant swear and Grant himself could never recall having done so.”

I wonder if being drunk all the time kept his anger in check?

"Maybe he would be OK. We already decided here that McCain/Feingold/Thompson wasn’t the deal-killer we used to think, since we were voting for Thompson.

He’s a nut about global warming, but maybe 4 years of global warming hysteria won’t kill us."

Stop it.

You are hysterical.

You are not voting for McCain.

Me, I'm going to get myself some survival gear, and a lot of ammo.  (First I have to get a gun and learn how to use it though.)

I don’t know. I would like to know how any so-called Republican can vote for McCain though.....

“And finally, just MHO, but I believe that Republicans, and conservatives especially, are about to enter our “Wilderness Years”.”

You got that right. I’m bowing out for the next one to two terms. Will concentrate on feathering my little nest and living in it. Luckily I’m old enough so that I most likely will be dead before the true sh*t hits the fan. You younger suckers who support the liberal RINO McQueeg, are the ones who will truly have to suffer. One plus is that I am so disgusted with the whole political scenario, that I will stop watching Fox (McCain supporters almost all) Cable News, CNN, and PMSNBC. Especially the jerk talking heads on all of these channels, BOR, Brit Hume, Sean Hannity, Fred Barnes, Mort Kondrake, Anderson Cooper, Chrissy Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Dick Morris, David Schuster, Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, etc. etc. etc. Kiss them all goodbye. Even hopping on this website is going to be less as I won’t be able to stomach any thread about McCain or Clinton (whichever ends up Prez). Will have to stick to the religious or historical or archeological or cartoon or food, music, arts threads. Refuse to get nauseated by looking at any of the political threads. Well, at least I’ll have time back in my life to pursue other interests. Thank goodness I do have other interests.

I think some of the ballots were stuffed for McCain. An earlier poster here said they were allowing people to switch registration at the last minute to vote in our primary. This is a clear violation of the law.

Not sure. I’ve been watching Family Guy. Can’t stand the reporting. I’m not kidding about registering D in the primaries. My main purpose above all else is to stop Hillary. If the R is already covered, I’ll try and stop her early, because I don’t think we’re doing it late.

Do not be bitter my FRiend, we who admire President Bush and love America are optimistic even in the most dire situations. We know that our President Bush will be remembered by history as one of the greatest Presidents ever.

what makes you think McCain will appoint conservative judges??? he won’t.

C'mon. Hillary or Obama's judicial appointments would be disasters. I'm not crazy about McCain, but I would trust him on judges.

"This nomination fight isn’t over. McCain hardly won florida. But since the only person who could stop him is Romney, and since a good number of conservatives would rather see Romney lose, I don’t see what good it does that Romney might be able to beat him, because we won’t let him."

A good and honest post that bears repeating.
