DRUDGE HEADLINE

MCCAIN WINS FLORIDA

it’s a dark day in conservative circles with that news.

A zelous friend of mine was mentioning a McCain/Huckebee ticket. I don't know if the maniac is pushing that amoung the Huckleberry followers, but I wouldn't doubt it.

My impression is they both would do anything to get into the office, just like Hillary.

If McCain wins the primary, write in Thomas Jefferson in November.

Out of the RINOS, I prefer McCain.

Only because he can beat Hillary.

He won’t beat Obama though. No one can, as far as I can see.

BIG TIME GOP WASHOUT IF MCAMNESTY GETS THE NOM.

I don't see it. I think McCain is probably the GOP's best hope at beating Hillary or Obama.

He will bring in most of the the independents and will keep enough of the GOP voters to knock either of them off.

Now that McCain won a closed GOP primary after winning NH and SC, let's give all the conservative drama queens a chance to complain and threaten to vote for Hillary.

There is no way we can win in November.

If McCain is the Republican nominee, and Obama is the Rat nominee, we will lose. It will be child's play for the leftwing media to contrast "the jobs aren't coming back, there will be more wars," McCain with Obama's wispy message of hope.

I'm starting to think that the best of all possible worlds (if McCain wins the nomination) might be for him to be branded as a loser, get him out of the way, and let the vastly inexperienced Obama fumble his way through two years while we rebuild a Republican Congress. Yes, we might get a city or two nuked by the islammofascists, but look how many people in New York have already forgotten the lesson of 9/11. We might just need a fresh reminder of what it means to deal with enemies the old fashioned (WWII) way.

Two years of President Obama will make George W. Bush into a national hero figure by comparison. And we wouldn't have the pure evil of Hillary to deal with anymore.

The “Republican Party” cannot be “conservative”. If it was, it would be a 25% party.

Conservatives like to talk about getting rid of all the moderates, but then we won’t win any elections.

In order to get a Reagan, we have to be able to get 51% of the vote.

John McCain won’t win in November. He’s a lousy candidate. And yet he might just be able to get a win in Florida, which maybe means HE CAN get people to vote for him.

If we assume for the moment he CAN win the election, then we have to decide if we WANT him to win. Well, he’s strong on the war. He’s good for the military. He’s bad for catching terrorists, but we only waterboarded a few people anyway, and my guess is deep down he’ll turn aside if he has to.

Maybe he would be OK. We already decided here that McCain/Feingold/Thompson wasn’t the deal-killer we used to think, since we were voting for Thompson.

He’s a nut about global warming, but maybe 4 years of global warming hysteria won’t kill us.

It’s going to take a while to talk me into McCain. But I think it’s easier than talking me into Huckabee or Rudy.

At some point conservatives may have to decide if we are going to let McCain win without us. Because if we do, he’ll owe us nothing.

Maybe McCain will pick Fred Thompson as VP. And then quit after 4 years.

Not to mention McCain won’t cut and run in Iraq.

You may have to hold your nose, but you’ve gotta vote for the Republican nominee, whoever it is.

Let Hillary appoint Bill to SCOTUS. Great Idea

Let Hillary/Obama pull the troops.

Let Hillary/Obama bring us universal health care.

Seriously, some people here hold grudges far too long and are more than willing to sell the country down the river just because they don’t agree with the nominee 100% of the time. Some people on this board need to grow up.

There are millions of Rush babies across the country who will sit this one out if McCain is the nominee. Florida is not at all typical of the whole country.
