You nailed it! Who can forget Election night 2000, with Dan Rather calling Florida for Gore at 8 PM Eastern, an hour before polls closed in the much more conservative pan-handle. I understand that a lot of voters waiting in long lines to vote for Bush turned around and went home upon hearing that news. It's deja vu all over again!

Except this time, Republicans who are conservative are motivated to BOOT McLame.

Which GOP candidate is better able to prevent a Hillary Clinton Presidency?

Shudder! Just reading those three words creeps me out!

I thought it was a violation of law to post exit polls prior to the polls closing?

That applies only if releasing such polls harms the liberal candidate. If doing so harms the conservative candidate (e.g. Bush 2000), then posting such polls is encouraged.

I've heard Romney call for a repeal of McCain-Feingold many times.

I think the distinction Medved made was that although Romney has critiqued McCain-Feingold, he hasn't called for a repeal of it.

If it’s the same as 2000 then I guess in most of the state polls close at 7 ET. But in that small portion in the central time zone it would be 8 ET. I suppose the networks will call the state for McCain even before all the polls have closed. Like they did with Gore on another election night long ago....

Hoping this guy doesn't take away too many votes from Romney allowing McCain to win.

Medved should have done more research. Romney’s article was from April of last year. Thanks.

Meaning: your choice is McCain?

No. Meaning my choice is in a battle for 3rd. I would like Huckabee to win, but it doesn't look as if that will happen. So my hope is realistic. I want my LAST choice, Romney, to not come in first. If that leaves McCain winning then whatever. I'm hoping against my last choice winning. Then I would like to see my first choice do as well as possible, which is probably 3rd in Florida. Go Mike!

Thanks so much for the info! I’m not at all familiar with Florida, and had no clue what the demographics of Naples might be. So, it looks like Naples is breaking heavily for Romney, exactly as one might expect. It’ll be interesting to start getting some exit polls from more moderate districts.

“If MYTH is the nominee in November I am staying home.
No self respecting southerner could vote for that slick yankee liberal.”

I voted for Romney to stop Amnesty McCain the Arizona liberal who is for amnesty for illegals, cutting spending on the military, having tax money pay for abortions, voting with the DEMS at every chance, and on top of that wants to take credit from General Petreaus for the success in Iraq. In my opinion, Mitt Romney does not come out THAT LIBERAL after all!

Has McCain called for a repeal of McCain-Feingold? I wonder.

Yep, I guess Mitt is as close as we are going to get to a true conservative.

I’ve heard Jim DeMint’s name but don’t know a thing about him. Is he one of the senators who was with us BIG TIME against amnesty?
