Is todays primary THE election? (Are we electing Hillary today?)

Do the Florida voters realize they may be electing Hillary as President today? THe conservatives in America cannot vote for this guy McCain. For 8 years he has been President Bush's primary backstabber, and the arguements against him are too numerous for this post.

This day could be historic. In the future when they ask "where were you when Hillary Clinton was elected president?", You may have to tell them where you heard McCain won the Florida Primary on January 29th, 2008.

My take is that Romney really has to win Florida or he is not going to get the nomination.

McPain has the lead in the big states (CA and NY) and a win in FL should give him a boost in both of those states. If Romney wins FL then McPain will look vulnerable and the votes and the money will flow Romney's way.

OTOH, I think Romney will win in FL. That will be the end for Rudy but not for McPain. The fight will go on until at least 5 Feb.

Wait a minute....trying to understand. They won’t start reporting returns until ALL the polls are closed, including those in the Panhandle.

They've done it in EVERY single election before....and now you tell me this year will be an exception?

The media almost always projects a winner before our polls close, with people still waiting to cast their votes.

I think we’re looking at Obama as the dim candidate - not Hillary.

No. 100% wrong. You must be a pre registered republican with a valid voter ID and a valid photo ID.

You can still vote if have lost your voter ID card by filling out a paper ballot after the clerk checks your name against the voters in your precinct, and your drivers license.
And you cannot vote in, say, the precinct down the street. It must be your local precinct that has your name listed on the rolls as a registered republican.

No, you misunderstand....I’m not telling or saying anything...I’m simply trying to understand the process and the history of the process. I am not a Floridian.

This makes one wonder if all the popular superdelegates are as committed to HRC as I had always assumed.

Today's global, easily accessible media with it's lightning speed can turn things in a nano-second for those in the entertainment biz and in politics (those too ugly to be entertainers). Adored one minute, reviled the next.

A Romney nomination guarantees a Hillary victory.

If McCain wins the nomination and the general election, we only get Hillary light.

McCain looks as (ahem!) good as he does only because he is a media darling - as Republicans go. Put him up against an actual Democrat and the very first thing you can expect is an avalanche of stories emphasizing that McCain is in his mid - seventies, and looks older than Reagan did when he retired. And that those were hard miles, in the Hanoi Hilton. And stories about how long 'til he comes down with Alzheimers' Disease. Next to the images of him that you will be seeing, the images you see of Hillary will look younger than spring. And if it's Obamma . . .

The second thing you will see is the big October "Surprise" - we already know what is coming - of wall-to-wall coverage of the Keating 5 scandal. Sure, McCain was the fifth-worst senator and the four worst ones were Democrats - but all that will matter is that McCain was on the list, and he's a Republican presidential nominee.

After that - which will all be perfectly true, with no "Killian Memos" needed - polls which today indicate that "if the election were today" McCain would edge out Hillary or Obamma will be ancient history.

And that is beside the point that there are Democrats in the senate who are more conservative than McCain - so even if he wins he will govern in a way which will tear the Republican Party apart. So McCain will not actually win the WH - and that's the best we can hope for if he wins the nomination.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I am in Brevard county (east coast) and the radio is already projecting who will win. Actually, I went to vote at 11 am, and Faux News Radio reported a close one, with Romney ahead.

Eleven am. Polls close at 7 pm. And they are already projecting who will win.

Did not stop me from voting, however.

Stand Strong.

That is reason enough not even to vote for McCain as SENATOR.

What is Craig’s deal — did he meet up with a gangbanger with lots of prison “experience” in an El Paso airport?

The only evidence about H2H matchups says the opposite. Your opinion that nominating Romney will keep Hillary out of the WH has as much evidence as saying the same about Ron Paul.

This is a pure vanity thread. It’s just some idea you had without any basis for that idea.

I believe Larry Craig is owned by the agricultural cheap labor lobby In Idaho. Voting down the Cornyn amendment still doesn’t make sense even then— so his motivation may have been as simple as thinking “We have enough votes to ram it through; we’re not going to slow it down with any amendments.”

That's Larry's problem. He's not focused on anything except "ramming it through."

But only McPain can win AZ: no other Republican can do much in that fast-moving Democrat state. He might also win VA and halt the Democrat surge there. I think he would run better than Romney overall. Mostly, because people don’t really know much about politics. They just choose “familiar” names.

Wow, I guess Mitt pees too fast for Craig to have gotten his foot under the stall in time!
