Rudy Giuliani appears to be pondering an end to his long pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination.
In a meeting in the back of his chartered plane en route to St. Petersburg, Fla., a short while ago, the onetime, longtime GOP front-runner told a small group of reporters, including The Times' Louise Roug: "The winner of Florida will win the nomination."

Conservatism and Reaganism are alive and well.
Its the GOP thats on life support.
I don’t think Rudy ever had a real chance. The MSM played him up so they would not have to talk and write about the other republican candidates.
Dropping out won’t be the worst thing that ever happened to Rudy. With all the attention he has gotten and on top of his heroic reputation from 9/11, the man is going to be making a lot of money from book deals and speeches.
What is Hunter going to have in comparison? While dropping out probably took some shine off of Thompson’s Hollywood star.
Agree completely.
I wouldn’t trust the LATimes to catch bird droppings.
I think a hit job to help McCain.
The MSM is trying to save the Democrat.
I won't vote for Giulani, but I would not be upset to see him replace Chertoff as Homeland Security head.
Then he could get to visit the White House. - Tom
If Rudy withdraws prior to Super Tuesday, John McCain is helped big time.
Basically, the Fred Heads gravitated to Romney, and those inclined to America’s Mayor have been tickling to McCain.
If McCain wins tomorrow, he’s the clear faviorite going tinto Super Tuesday.
But, even if he were to lose, with Rudy out, McCain would still look forminable on Super Tuesday in all the “big states” that Rudy was hoping to win.
Again, if McCain wins tomorrow, Mitt Romney is going to think very hard about the media buy that would be necessray to compete with McCain. This will be a very difficult decision, because the price tag is going to be very big.
But, if Romney wins, I don’t think he (or anybody) could resist the opportunity to become President of the United States, no matter the price tag.
One final comment: I don’t think Romney should believe those Datamart polls he’s paying for.
na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, GOOD BYE!
Start spreading the news
I’m leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And make a brand new start of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I’m king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you, New York, New York.

I guess, I need to call them and find out where my, my friends', and my family's checks are.
Absolutely. Hunter was my second choice (Tancredo first), but a very close second. When it became obvious that Tancredo wasn’t gaining any traction, I was focused on Hunter, and for a while I was even thinking that a Hunter/Thompson ticket would be just the thing. I could definitely see Hunter playing a key role in the next Republican administration.
:)
The propaganda arms of the left, such as the Drive-by-Media, still reach a wide audience, enough to sway elections.
For every thinking voter, there are ten sheeple (many of whom think they are thinking ;). The solid conservative concepts of respect for the Constitution, limited government and individual responsibility have limited pull. Many will agree with them, but few can hold to these ideals, in the face of a lifetime of propaganda hurled at them.
McCain has been sucking up to those propaganda arms for years now; he knows where there's power to be had.
... I'd better shut up ... I'm starting to depress myself.
Hit job or not, who cares. I will never vote for the abortion approving, anti-gun, cross dressing liberal RINOcrat.
I think Rudy is through if he does not win Florida.
I didn’t see titansafc around lately (hope everything is ok) so I borrowed the list from his home page.
Good news on Rooooody, if true!
I second that!
