From someone who missed the debate, can someone sum up what happened in a few sentences?

Is Bloomberg going to get into the race?
You betcha. His ego will demand that he makes a statement now, for the future.

I’m with you... this party now pi$$es on the Bill of Rights. Not a one of them deserves to be called a Republican much less a Conservative. Disgusting group of parasites and charlatans ALL.

“Anyway there is something about him that is discomforting. “

Tonight is the first debate I have actually watched; I normally get my news via radio & reading. And I have to say, I am ready to crawl back into my head. I like Mitt better there.

Don't remember NYT doing this in the past. I think they can't stand either Rudy or Romney, saw that their guy didn't so well tonite, so chose this moment to help prop him up.

If this is a new policy (it was for other papers around the country and surpise! McCain was the beneficiary) I see no way that this assists McCain in Florida's closed Republican Primary. It also is prime material for Romney to use in stump speeches ("I'm proud that I didn't get endorsed...by the NYT." It's a'comin'.

Romney wins this debate, easily. Very impressive. Only one weak answer (2nd Amendment), at least five or six very strong ones 2nd amendment counts Big Time

And that, my friends, will lose any general election for him. Unless he gets some education on this issue, and has a bona fide conversion, he will never get elected as our next president. You'd think he'd be smart enough to figure this one out for himself.

"Bill’s not intelligent?! The guy’s not a lot of things, but he is intelligent."

He's _emotionally_ UNintelligent (immature). IQ doesn't do an emotionally immature person any good. In fact, that sort of mentality is the most dangerous when given the reins of power.

From someone who missed the debate, can someone sum up what happened in a few sentences?

I'd say "Four Democrats and Ron Paul said why they think they should be President" but that would ruin the mood.

Versus Kennedy, Romney folded like a pup tent.

That was then; this is now.

Romney won. Rudy didn’t do badly. Huck told bad jokes. McCain looked old, sick and not there, but the NYT endorsed him anyway. Mr. Paul had some good answers, but got ignored alot.

.

I’m using a circa 2000 RCA WebTV-Plus receiver on 56K dialup

No problemo connecting or viewing the graphics that I post

My debate vidcaps tonight are 640x480 at only 27K-34K each

I am the most diligent person on FR in keeping image filesizes low and resonable and I also reduce larger bandwidth graphics to acceptable filesizes for 56K dialup users

I myself am on 56K dialup

Some of my own vidcap images I posted tonight will be used by other FReepers (as source images not otherwise available on the internet except thru AP or the NYT ) to create graphics and animated .gifs for this campaign

I did it in 2004

I campaigned for Steele for Senate last year, 2006, but I am not too happy with some of the decisions he has made lately. I have seriously lowered my assessment of his political skills. He is a serious conservative, however, but not vice-presidential caliber.

I’m not sure everything I did in the past I would do again. Of course this is WAYYYY different from most FReepers who are as pure as the driven jimmy swaggert, er driven snow. I think Romney would be a good manager and would do a good job against hillbill. I still would feel better about this if he had Fred as VP.
