I'd say "Four Democrats and Ron Paul said why they think they should be President" but that would ruin the mood.
Romney won. Rudy didn’t do badly. Huck told bad jokes. McCain looked old, sick and not there, but the NYT endorsed him anyway. Mr. Paul had some good answers, but got ignored alot.
Liberal love fest.
“From someone who missed the debate, can someone sum up what happened in a few sentences?”
Pretty unremarkable. Probably the worst, most biased questions I’ve ever seen, with the moderators at first attempting to turn the candidates against one another and, when that didn’t work, asking them endless “gotcha” questions, and refusing to accept the answers they were given.
To my mind, Romney won, hands down, and did not appear to be rattled by the assault questions. Rudy did almost as well, though Mitt, as far as I recall, is the only one who actually got in a few digs at The Real Enemy (The Clintons, of course). McCain was restrained, didn’t do badly. Even Huck, whom I dislike, had a few good answers and shining moments.
Overall, it was a very CIVIL debate... almost as if the candidates agreed beforehand that no matter what the idiot leftist moderators pulled, they weren’t going to attack each other and go for blood. To that end, it almost went too far the other direction, with several moments where the candidates stopped answering questions just to say something nice about one of the other guys (oh, how Russert and Williams must have hated THAT!!!).
