This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

If he wanted the VP spot he should have endorsed some one who might win.

Probably because there are no true conservatives left running. So everyone has to pick the parts of the conservative message that are most dear to them.

Hunters endorsement but it was clearly based on principle and not on politics.A conservative backs a socialist because of "principle"? Right.

Hang on, when did he have either of those?

This can only mean he wants the VP spot. Good point. I guess we won't be seeing a Romney/Hunter ticket any time soon.

This is hilarious.
I cannot wait to watch this thread explode.
First the minutemen and now Hunter.
It’s time for a reality check paleocons. Fred’s out. Hunter’s endorsing Huck.
This is going to leave a mark.

I definitely lost respect for him. Huckabee is a first class flake.
I’m actually getting frustrated with the FRs regarding this campaign, and if it’s true about what Rush said regarding not supporting the republican candidate then, heck with him too.
I’m the sorriest to admit that we don’t have a perfect candidate, but I feel for now Romney deserves a chance to win our vote.

Huckabee will never be President, so why:
1) endorse him
2) make himself look like an idiot and tick off his fans?

Hey Hunter.
I want a refund. Amen. I spent money on Duncan, then on Fred. I must be in la la land...
