Just broke on Fox - details to come.
Wow! I’m getting goosebumps. About an hour and a half ago, I was perusing the list of films available for viewing on HBO’s iControl, and clicked on the info button for Brokeback Mountain. I already knew what the movie was about, but wanted to read the description they had provided. My eyes immediately focused on Heath Ledger’s name. It was just about the same time this thread was posted. Weird.
I remember seeing it when it came out, but I didn’t remember Anthony Hopkins in the flick until much later. To me, the most memorable line in that movie was Peter O’Toole’s character appointing his imbecile son as heir to the throne: “Stop dribbling while I raise you to glory!!”
Interesting. I don't think many people realized he had a substance abuse problem. In this day of camera cell phones and internet updates it is a lot harder for stars to keep their addictions under wraps like they could in the old days.
Guilty !!!
He was not able to sleep more than 2 hours... that is so hard.
My daughter has that problem since certain events in her life and one will do a lot to get some sleep.
I guess we’ll find out what he was taking and perhaps it will be a warning to others.
This may have had something to do with it, a movie now being made:
From IMDB:
“The Joker’s character is based on his first two appearances in the comic books...To prepare for the role, Heath Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month researching the character and developing his performance, which he claims is based upon Sid Vicious and the character of Alex in A Clockwork Orange (1971). Ledger found the role extremely difficult, and suffered insomnia as a result.”
If you haven't seen the Cruise video, I recommend watching that first and then watching Jerry's.
Tough to take you serious when you start by using the Lord’s name in vain and then ask us to pray for him. Think about it.
Damn, good actor. How sad.
Retread troll banned.
Matilda Ledger...
you’re awesome!
Right you are. Good actor. Screwed up personal life. Really a shame. A lot of people can’t handle celebrity.
RIP.
Fortunately for us, murder (other than abortion) isn't being defended as a "lifestyle choice."
Lots of people have played homosexuals over the years. The problem with Brokeback Mountain was its agenda.
I felt so sorry for him on Monster’s Ball.
