I loved “A Knight’s Tale” and “The Patriot”. He obviously had a right to do “Brokeback Mountain”, but I became much less of a fan after that. I thought the movie was beneath him despite the swooning of left-wing activists.
I’ll pray for the repose of his soul. R.I.P.

Could have been a standing appointment. But it’s just a guess. TMZ says the cops on still on the scene waiting for the medical examiner, so no one really knows much at this point.

May not have even been an overdose, he may have just had a bad reaction to the pills.
To: CaptainK
He may or may not have remembered the appointment. Many things to speculate about when these things happen. At least he wasn’t dating one or more Kennedys.

If you saw the movie, which I did, I thought it was played sensitively - if that makes sense, by both actors. I thought it really showed their struggle with what they saw as a problem. I am glad you are human. If we condemn him for Brokeback, do we condemn him for playing a revolationary in the Patriot?

nah, Owen Wilson did it on purpose and survived it. There was not a cover up.

While I appreciate the comparison with "The Crow", the fact that Brandon Lee died
on set, on camera, in scene, while Heath Ledger was done with filming Batman, means the comparison is lacking.
Not trying to lessen the loss or lousy timing, just seeking a sense of proportion. Pity his family.

Guess it's time to slam Anthony Hopkins. /s

Did you actually see the movie?
No. Any movie that features two men kissing is not on my 'must see', 'want to see', or 'will ever see absent a Clockwork Orange-type scenario.'
The media's slavish worship of that particular film told me all I needed to know about it.

I did too. He was great in The Patriot. How sad.

I’ve always wanted to slam Hopkins, but my husband will have none of it.

Yikes now saying the apartment belonged to one of the Olson twins.
