Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

Well, it’s a damn shame, but Fred did what he had to do. My support is going straight to Romney.

You’ll be voting for Hillary or Obama by not bothering to vote against them

"Well, the GOP told me in 2004 that if I voted third party, I'd be setting us up for open borders, more spending, more stupid 'environmental'legislation" and letting Iran build her nukes. Oh, and higher oil prices too."

"Damn if they weren't right. I voted third party and every single one of those things happened."

Pretty strong language...what’s YOUR evidence? Did you ever personally SEE Fred on the campaign trail....let me guess...probably not...your no “fire in the belly” is a direct result of the media throwing Fred under the bus. This is a classic example of how repeating something many times makes people believe it’s true. Just because Fred didn’t start campaigning the day after GWB took the oath of office in 2004 equates to having no desire to be president. I question sometimes when others seem to want it too much.

What the media and the primary system has done to this country borders on criminal. Most of the idiots still are told what to do by the media...If the media paints you as lazy...you’re lazy...if the media gives you a pass on lying to a grand jury...it’s acceptable behavior. Think back for just a minute to Iowa....Fred spent most of the day (election day to boot) refuting rumors that he was dropping out of the race. How many times do you have to go on TV and tell these dorks that you’re NOT dropping out before they believe it. I heard Fred tell Fox News that the story was BS and it was the lead on H&C 9 hours later. If the media loves you (today) you’re golden, if someone else comes along that strikes their fancy, you wake up next to a horses head.

Romney is a consumate politician, screw his religion, think back to his record. If he was such a conservative...how’d he get elected governor in a state that sends the likes of Kennedy; Kerry; and Barney Frank to Congress. Guess the voters had a change of heart? Not likely.

McQueeg IS the consumate RINO, look in the dictionary under RINO and you’ll see his picture. He has backed doored conservatives so many times that I wouldn’t want him standing behind me with his hands on my shoulders. And, while I appreciate his service to our country (like thousands of other Viet Nam era veterans) he is held sancrosanct because he was a POW. At the risk of getting flamed....nice guy...lousy A-4 pilot.

Hucklenuts is still trying to figure out why he is in the top tier of candidates. He is counting his blessings because the longer he gets media attention, the better his chances for his television ministry after he crashes and burns. Right now, he is riding high on the evangelicals wings because he has convinced them he is one of them. When they REALLY start to look at his record and turn away he may want to start applying for parts in the off-broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar..the part of Judas should fit him nicely.

Ron Paul....you only have to listen to the guy just once to know he’s certifiable. If YOU’D HONESTLY vote for that nutcase, you may want to find a part-time job working for Claxtons.

As for Rudy...if it weren’t for 9-11, he’d have nothing to run on. He was perceived as a strong leader that day because like Chuckie Shumer, there wasn’t a camera in sight he didn’t run to. He says he is going to take care of the illegal alien problem. I believe him...he’ll develop an amnesty program where they will no longer be “illegal”, problem solved.

I’d like to vote for Rudy....the Rudy that was from Pennsylvania who went to Notre Dame and busted his a$$ to play football. There’s a guy I could vote for. Some one who works his butt off for the good of the team.

I for one am sick and tired of having the party pass off these moderates, liberals, and basic democrats as representatives of MY party. It’s time WE sent a message to Washington loud and clear. WE WANT CONSERVATIVES as our Congressional and Presidential candidates.

If the national party cannot or will not support a candidate that reflects my values why should I support (financially or with my vote) a candidate that would be closer to the left?

I’ve heard the arguments about not wanting Hillary in the White House and the “anyone but Hillary” crowd. But with McCain, Romney or Gulianni can you state with certainty that we won’t end up with a liberal agenda? I think not.

McCain will team up with Kennedy and his “good friend” Sen. Kerry to push through social programs; raising taxes, establishing amnesty, socialized healthcare all “for the good of the country.” You know it will happen. With Romney, you know it, you’re just afraid to admit it.

As long as these types of candidates hold sway in the Republican party I guess I can paraphrase what the last great communicator said when asked why he changed parties:

I didn’t leave the Republican Party....it left me.

Here’s an idea: How about going after the DEMOcRATS??!!
But that all depends on what you want for the eventual outcome in November...................

Good ideas?? Fred Thompson consistently penned more detailed plans and workable ideas than the other dwarfs put together.

That said, thanks for the report of what Mitt said. It’ll be up to Romney to earn my support at this point. And he’s got some darned big shoes to try and fill in that department. Still it was a nice gesture.

Ping to reports about Mitt rintense

“Campaigns are like a business, if you don’t get votes, it’s not because the customers suck, it’s either because your product wasn’t that great, or you didn’t do a good job selling your product. This blame the consumer stuff is lame.”

I’m in sales and I know that what the customer wants is not always what the customer needs. And that is where salesmanship comes in. Fred was doing it, but the MSM and the faulty start was too much to overcome.

Well, it probably would have been anyway since I’m under the weather and on some industrial strength antibiotics...

...but Huck, McCain, and Rudy are not candidates I’m going to even consider right now. I still need some more convincing about Romney.

"...Guess you’ll show the Republicans!..."

Exactly!!! The Republicans had the best chance ever during the past several years, and where are we now? I say give it to Hillary, let her make a disaster, and hopefully we will find another Republican like RR to save our America. Note my sig...

I agree with your thinking... This is a truly sad day... You know, they say you have to hit bottom before you can recover. I sure hope the nation at large doesn’t have to do that... This is definitely a very low point right now. And, I fear it’s only going to get much worse over the next 4 years.
