Just heard on Laura Ingram (quoting Carl Cameron of FoxNews) that Thompson will drop out tomorrow.
Bad results, ill mother....

It would be easier, perhaps, if so many were such damn hypocrites. Say one thing, do another... seems everyone is becoming a politician, even alleged bastions of conservatism. One wonders what Rush will do next.

4. Sources inside the Huckabee campaign are extremely worried since they didnt beat McCain in SC. Blaming Fred for the loss is not an off the cuff reaction. It is part of their strategy to fight Fred. While they will get a boost in donations now, they are still extremely worried about money and the ability to continue past Florida if they do not do well there.

Rumor/undisclosed sources | 1/20/2008 Just got this from a trusted source I know personally: A buddy of mine has been on Huckabees campaign for a number of months now. He was asked yesterday if he would stay on without pay- as in- he was no longer going to get paid starting yesterday. There are a bunch of folks way under him in the chain of campaign- they're all being cut and then the campaign will be reorganizing with any that do choose to stay. Doesn't sound like there is going to be very many. That's right boys and girls. Mike Huckabee's campaign appears to... |

I understand your position.
But the RINO establishment is just a slow death.

Fred will not be at the top of your ticket idea, the best Fred can hope for would be VP, and I personally don’t see that as an option.

Rush started his Romney shift last week. Expect it to continue. I fully expect Rush to give the ‘Romney or Hillary’ speech in the next two months.

We haven’t had a conservative nominee since 1984. I’ve grown tired of that situation. I might be leaving the booth in November w/o making a mark for President.

In my opinion, the only reason he came in 3rd was because of Huckabee. If Huckster would drop out, I think Fred would have a good shot at the southern states. I hope he could only stick it out. Just don’t formally announce you’re dropping out. Skip Florida if you must, but stay in at least through Super Tuesday. It’s only 2 weeks away.

Some of us pointed out Lauras hypocrisy... she rails against the View women, but then turns into one herself.
I saw Laura on Fox&Friends the morning after Hillary's tears. Laura said she sort of believed they were real.
Out of curiosity, I tuned in her radio program later that morning. She began the program by railing against the tears and saying 'yeh, she believed them --- for about a nanosecond.'
Later in the program, the interviewed Terry McAuliffe (IIRC). At the end of the interview the topic turned to Hillary's tears. Laura told McAuliffe that she felt Hillary's pain and she knew Hillary's displayed emotions were sincere.
I couldn't believe it. Laura waffled from one extreme to the other that morning: F&F (sort of believing) to her show opening (believing for a nanosecond) to her McAuliffe interview (knowing the tears were sincere).
Either Laura has no backbone or no credibility. She might make a good politician.

Heck, I would give Fred Thompson a cigar for what he’s accomplished up till now, considering what the media has done to him.

My vote wil NOT go to a RINO this year if that's the case; let them learn conservatives have no use for two-faced Liberal sympathizers called "Republican" on the ballot.
If Americans have been fooled into accepting this as the best they can do; let them reap the rewards.
I'll write in a name before I vote for another RINO.
To: PurpleMan
The only surprise to me is that he didn’t do it Saturday. Fred was my 2nd choice after Hunter, but neither of them have gone anywhere which tells me that there are few thinking conservatives (or maybe just few conservatives period) voting in the early primaries

“McCain...it seems that these so-called new media hurt MCCain a whit. The man is WINNING the Republican primary and Im bitter.”
The so-called Republican primaries so far have been decided by an influx of dem and independent voters.
I do not call them Republican primaries.

I can understand the Fred haters eager to believe that he is withdrawing. But some of his alleged supporters seem to do the same thing. So quick to give up. I just don’t understand it.
