How is Michael Savage On the Air? Oh, That’s How
North Star Writers Group ^ | January 21, 2008 | Nathaniel Shockey

Posted on 01/21/2008 5:36:26 AM PST by Invisigoth

Michael Savage, the occasionally loud, usually offensive radio personality who is deliberately ignored by every major media outlet in America, is the sort of person you’d be better off knowing about.

Originally Michael Alan Weiner, he grew up in the Bronx. He currently lives in San Francisco, or as he sometimes refers to it, “San FranFreako.” But his thick, Italian New York accent, coupled with his love of Italian food and his certainty about everything he sets his mind to, make his roots as evident as ever.

“Bullcrap! You don’t know anything about me.”

Sure he does. We all do.

If you only (really) knew.

Savage used to be good. Then he went national. He peaked out around 1998.

Well we had to speak properly, sit up straight, hold our fork properly - my Father - ex-army - comparable to the drill instructor in the movie: full metal jacket, would not have it any other way. I was the most rebellious, so you can guess what happened - we argued alot./Just Asking - seoul62......

Yes, because looking back now - I realize that the reason I argued with my Father was that I was the most like him. I owe my Father - may he rest in peace an my Mother - she is living, everything because without their strict upbringing and guidance where would I be. One thing to everyone: life is too short tell your parents, even though you have differences with them that you love them now. The point in my life that I started to calm down,*(one note: I went away one summer with my boyfriend, now my husband and when I came back home, there were ambulances in front of my house: my mother in front was crying and she told me that my father had a massive heart attack. My Father died four weeks later, and I never told him that I loved him)*/Just Asking - seoul62........

Yes. In this case though, I combined pandemonium and maniacal. It seemed an appropriate marriage of descriptions.

I think that, a long time ago, Michael Weiner realized something that perhaps the rest of us are beginning to learn. What the media teaches us about all things "taboo" is absolute bunk. The official book of all things socially or morally acceptable has yet to be accepted by everyone. Considering Savage’s enormous following, there actually seem to be quite a number of dissenters.

Quite a number of dissenters have indeed been there as far as I can remember back to the 1950s.

Until the end of the "Fairness Doctrine" it was pretty much confined to the silenced majority.

Perhaps the most oft-heard caller statement in the early days of modern talk radio was, "I didn't know that others believed as I do! Thank you, Mr. Host, for saying what I believe!"

I've listened to Savage virtually everyday from the start years ago on KSFO. I remain convinced that he was picked by Someone really Big to lead the way.

At last! After four decades it was time that conservatives stopped "keepin' on truckling." Stop cowering and begging plaintively to be understood and that what conservatives believe is not racist or a threat to public order.

Instead, tell adversaries to stop the lying, tell 'em to go to hell. We are in a fight to see whose America survives.

I like Savage and I’m a girl. We listen to him and laugh at all you who get mad. Yes truth hurts and not all of us can say it so publicly. Yes sometimes I disagree but the man has and gives heart! We hope he takes those rats CAIR and dirties their little dresses. God bless him for helping our troops when our government went like the one in “Breaker Morant”.

Me too. I used to truck through the “GAY BAY” and always tried to listen to Savage on KSFO. I disagree with Savage about Rush but Savage is a very important voice in talk radio. BORDERS LANGUAGE CULTURE. Everybody should think about it.

Classic Savage quotes

Oh my God!

I can’t take it anymore!

I have never seen anything like it!

It’s unbelievable to me!

what do you want to talk about?

I don’t want to talk about politics!

Bush is the worst CIC in history!

Play some rock and roll!

Turn it off!

Weiner likes to skinny dip with gay poets. Anyone who slobbers all over Chuck Schumer is no Conservative. He found a way to make money and he is running with it.

You must have been the one with the pristine youth, most of the rest of us sort of misspent ours. So he grew up in the Beatnik era and had the opportunity to to meet with it's icons? He has no good words for Ginsberg now.
