He brings in the army and does what? Murders people who want to sell their milk for a higher price!!
It’s a rerun of Joe Stalin, Venezuelan style.

I am reminded of RHCP’s song.. “give it away, give it away, give it away now!” Didn’t some starving African nation try this?

Hey, Hugo, why wait for proof? Just go ahead and nationalize the entire economy. It has worked wonders for all the countries that do it.

If Chavez is ordering farmers to sell their milk inside Venezuela, it is probably for a price at which it would be better for the farmers to sell their milk cows as beef.

It kind of reminds me of Chuck Shumer on TV today. He has no problem with taking what rightfully belongs to someone and giving it to another. Apparently most people, Americans included, think government can wave its magic wand and do away with the laws of economics.

Chavez said "it's treason" if farmers deny milk to Venezuelans while selling it across the border in Colombia or for gourmet cheeses. "In that case the farm must be expropriated," Chavez said, adding that the government could also take over milk plants and properties of beef producers. I have some news for you, Hugo baby: Thieving government tyrants expropriating private property is "treason". In such cases, the tyrant deserves nothing less than the complete Ceausescu treatment...

The failure of free trade is why you get Hugo Chavez....in fact the growing socialist movement is South America is a direct result of free trade....and the fear of many developing South Amer countries from its effects.
You get the extremists like Chavez...and you get the US version of “socialism to bail out free trade” with the highest farm subsidy bill in US history....and billions spent to help US business move their manufacturing offshore.
Chavez is a nut. Some of our nutty policies made it possible for him to assume power

In the Soviet Union there were food shortages. Simultaneously government propaganda would be claiming how new records were broken each week in farm production. The saying went among the populace: “If you need milk, take your bucket to the radio.”
