Sen. John McCain won Saturday's South Carolina Republican presidential primary, AP projects.

Fox News and NBC News exit polls ranked the economy as the top concern among South Carolina primary voters, followed by illegal immigration, the war in Iraq, and terrorism.

Columnist and Weekly Standard Editor William Kristol commenting on Saturday's results on the Fox News Channel said that the Republican field is now winnowing down to just three viable candidates: McCain, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Giuliani.

I’d vote for Giuliani in the general election (if I have to), but I refuse to vote for either Huckabee or McCain. That’s just the way it is—even if it means a Democrat president.

I'm not saying McCain will win the Republican nomination, but if he does, he'll be a better bet for strict constructionist judges than a Democrat

McCain wouldn't dare put a constructionist judge before his friends on the left for confirmation. He has too much regard for their time to waste it like that.

I get your point. More people know about Sanjaya than about Duncan Hunter. I don't watch American Idol except for a few minutes here and there, but I would bet you Simon and Paula would tell Bruce Springstein that he will never make it in the business.
