AP | Jan. 19, 2008 | Breaking News

Sen. John McCain won Saturday's South Carolina Republican presidential primary, AP projects.

Fox News and NBC News exit polls ranked the economy as the top concern among South Carolina primary voters, followed by illegal immigration, the war in Iraq, and terrorism.

Columnist and Weekly Standard Editor William Kristol commenting on Saturday's results on the Fox News Channel said that the Republican field is now winnowing down to just three viable candidates: McCain, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Giuliani.

This is the same bunch that elects Lindsay Graham to the Senate. They are not conservatives.

No you don’t. And if you vote today you can’t vote in the Dem primary. That’s the issue. If you are independent you can vote in either. BTW, i’m extremely right and registered independent from back when i registered to vote. I think many do the same ;)

McLame is a disaster. He is a push over for a socialist elected Hillary.

McDisaster is wrong on immigration

McDisaster is wrong on tax cuts

McDisaster is wrong on campaign finance

McDisaster is wrong on climate change(man made)

Kiss you ass and your country away with a McDiasater nomination

McDisaster is wrong for America today as much as he was in 2000 and 2004

This is so disappointing.

I can’t believe anyone is dumb enough to vote for McCain in the Republican primary, especially after he tried to shove his illegal amnesty legislation down America’s throats last summer (WHICH HE WROTE!!!). Plus he was AGAINST the Bush tax cuts, plus he assaulted the 1st Amendment right to free speech with his disasterous McCain-Feingold legislation. The man is consistently WRONG on a host of issues.

I’m very, very sorry to write this, but unless America snaps to very quickly, I believe John McCain will be the next President of the United States.

If it comes down between him and Hillary in the general election, I’ll have to put a bag over my head, hold my nose, and vote for the guy. Actually, in a contest between anybody and Hillary, I’ll have to vote for the “anybody else” candidate.

We may very well have to get a RINO like McCain in the Oval office before we can get another man with the godly, strong, conservative principles of Ronald Reagan.

WAKE UP AMERICA! JOHN MCCAIN IS NO CONSERVATIVE!!!

Your tag line certainly doesn’t support your disdain for the only true Conservative in the Republican field.
I hope you and all the other RINO lovers enjoy the inauguration of the first Socialist President elected in what used to be the greatest country on the face of the earth.
I will hope that the voters in the rest of the primary States pull their heads out and vote for Thompson. He’ll be in it until super Tuesday, and I’ll pull for him all the way. If it isn’t Thompson, the Republican Party s doomed.

At least McCain is honest about his points of disagreement with conservatives.

So was Bush and we almost got amnesty because of his shoving it down our throats. McCain will do the same.

Even McLame fan Bill Kristol points out: McLame has not attracted 50% or more of the REPUBLICAN vote in the primaries.

Since Fred Thompson is not going anywhere, I think I am going to Romney.

I've been trying to decide between Fred and Mitt anyway.

In my primary, barring a sea change in the world of politics, I'm voting for Mitt.

RIP GOP

These talking heads on cable think that the GOP will eventually rally around a liberal/moderate nominee like McCain.

The GOP is in for a big surprise. When they called me (15 times this week) for my donation I ignored the calls. I finally couldn't take the phone ringing with a 00000000000 number any more, answered it, and told the unfortunate caller who happened to get me that I no longer donate to the GOP. I ONLY DONATE MONEY TO CONSERVATIVES.

America has nine months to get acquainted with this hunk/heck of a candidate.

And, when they do, they will find out he is flip-flopper and a liar with a liberal record of failure.

McCain is the ultimate Washington insider. He cares much more about what people on the DC cocktail party circuit think than what any voter thinks. Why people think he’d be better than a Dem is beyond me. He is a Dem, he’s just not honest enough about it to switch parties.

McCain is clueless as to what conservatives want, or he just doesn't care.

Sounds like somebody else now in office.

I'd sooner not vote than vote for him.

I agree. No way is that backstabbing POS going to ever get my vote. I never thought I would see the chance of me voting for a RAT, but I would be tempted to vote for a RAT against McQueeg because I thoroughly detest a backstabbing, manipulative person and I have worked with many.

I am going for Romney since Hunter has dropped out. Anyone but Huckleberry or McCain.

Fred’s problem isn’t Fred its a message problem and a media dead set on controlling who is nominated. They want Huckabee to be our nominee. McCain is going to be a big problem for them but they know that McCain is likely to do something to upset his base. Just wait till the debates and McCain has to talk like a Conservative in a harsh light of the liberal media. He won’t be a maverick anymore, he will be a target.

I think it’s pretty clear that Rush has been favorable to Thompson and Romney.

If Thompson exits this race, I’m not sure what he’s going to do. I don’t think he’ll endorse Romney, but he’ll certainly be getting more praise than anyone else.

I suspect Rush is also going to have to start talking a little fondly of Giuliani...

I think, with either McScream, Miff, or Rudi as the nominee, you have witnessed the full swing left of the republican party and the death of conservatism within this party. I see no strong conservative that can bring the party back. The party has gone further and further left. Left is what America thinks it wants. America wants socialism. Everyone thinks that something for free is possible. That no one has to work and earn anything. That GOVERNMENT is the ANSWER to EVERYTHING. And that government will provide everything. Money, food, health care, booze, drugs, big screen TV, short work weeks, higher pay, low energy prices, everything. America wants to be like Europe. I guess we are about to get it.
