My Pastor who is right on theologically, said he likes Rudy because he thinks he would do the best job of protecting this country against the Muzzies. We discussed all of Rudy’s left leaning social policies and he intellectually said that while he app hors abortion and the like, he does not see the next POTUS being able to ever reverse it. So he is looking for the guy who will best fight the WOT.

Asked him what he thought of Mitt. He said, “anyone who signs on to their kooky beliefs left their brain at the door and I just can’t trust them to run this country”.

The Mormon thing still is a sticking point for me. I go back and forth in my mind.

It is time to face an unpleasant truth folks. We conservatives are no more than a ‘Monkey-Ward in the outhouse’ to the replubican party.

Bondage is bondage whether under democrat or replubican yoke.

That is exactly what the two Republicans that I know from Massachusetts say as well. I would consider both to be moderately conservative. One actually worked on Romney's campaign against Kennedy but now says that he won't vote in the general election if Romney is the Republican nominee. The other called Romney a liberal scumbag which surprised me given her generally moderate views. It was RomneyCare that caused her to desert Romney.

Sadly, most of the conservative brides he's duped will only find this out after they've been left at the altar.

We owe it to our troops go provide the best commander-in-chief possible.

I totally agree, and for that reason a powder
keg like McCrazy should NOT be it.

Looks like independents are screwing up the Republican Nomination again.

If McCain wins, I can hardly wait to see the convention:

I am a Republican when they are conservative, and not when they are not. If Fred is not the nominee, I am writing his name in on my ballot in November. I won’t do diddly squat to help any of the liberals who remain.

Nice to be back on the same team, homes.

So we?re basically saying that Thompson ran as a foil for McCain in SC? Wouldn?t surprise me. Megan Kelly on FNC just showed the numbers how McCain would have been beaten if Thompson hadn?t been running.

IMO it's been a deal with McCain and Thompson to eliminate Romney. McCain will give Fred a good job in his administration but not VP because McCain is too old and so is FT. I think several of the media suspect this too.

GWB has been a disaster and is the biggest reason HRC is headed back to DC, one year from tomorrow.

Exit polls show the senile old people about to kick the bucket put McCain over the top.

They seriously need to ban voting for anybody over 70.

I agree his stance on the surge and the war in general has been unwavering, but it’s the pro-prisoner stance that baffles and, frankly, upsets me.

I know that. I was just givin’ Owen a hard time, ‘cause he deserves it for what he wrote about Fred running so McCain will make him VP.

Dog - I read more than I post - but I am so fed up this evening that I just had too. Folks (and yes ‘evangelicals too) are forgetting what true conservatives stand for and what we don’t stand for. If the party is going to stand for nothing but capitulation with socialist/democratic thought - than we don’t have a party. Logging on to the Romney site - time to take a peak - but it is also possible that this is going to be a brokered convention

do you - or does anyone - know what happened in December that suddenly Huckabee found himself in this position? What happened tht suddenly the Evangelicals were in his camp? His rise from nowhere to winning in IA seemed to happen in a matter of weeks, and I can't figure it out. The only thing I can imagine, and I don't like it one bit, is that he put 'the fear of the Lord' into them that a Mormon might win and they had to get behind him.

We fear the Lord for a lot of reasons, our own sinfulness for one, the abomination of abortion, for another. It's not that we fear Romney or his Mormonism, it's just that we don't trust the former Governor of one of most liberal states. To get where he is, somewhere, sometime, maybe lots of times, he has had to decieve a lot of people. How can we trust him?
