Fred Thompson Gets Mad
By Joel Achenbach PROSPERITY, S.C. -- You rarely see Fred Thompson get too riled about anything, but steam was near about shooting from his ears today when he heard at a campaign stop that some of his supporters had received "push poll" calls from a group supporting Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

Back during the bookcase/cross flap, many of us said that Huckabees deliberate cynical use of a deniable background element to insert a cross into his Christmas greeting, and his subsequent condescending denials indicated that he was not a trustworthy character. We were roundly derided at the time for being too sensitive and conspiracy mongers.
It is good to see many of our fellow FReepers have caught up with our assessment.
But liberals do. And Fred gets no support whatsoever from the commenters.
Glad you were able to see him. How was it?
Go, FRed, GO!!
He’s got your “fire in the belly,” right here!
I don’t know Fred personally, but living in Nashville, which is actually more “town” than “city” in many way, I do know folks who’ve had dealings with him. And have never heard anything but positive stuff. He’s the only one of the candidates I find willing to tell the truth and would vote for him gladly in either the primary or the general. In the general election, I might be able to hold my nose and vote Romney, but Huckabee or Guiliani? I’ll stay home.
The sooner the Huckster is toast, the better. What a POS...
The comments from the moonbats are pretty funny... “if (Fred) didn’t want to be involved in dirty campaigning, he should have run as a Democrat.”
But, but, but, HE’S A CHRISTIAN!!!!
Rollins can fling crap with the worst of them.
What is worse, than that there are some who will fall for it, is that their are many who are still supporting him knowing his campaign supporting and doing this.
It looks like this might be prosecutable in SC and under the terms of the group’s “tax exempt” status....hmmm
Rove had class,
rollins has only desperation.
Hot dang. We're in agreement. :-)
Fuel for your fire.
From a production standpoint, the bookcase/cross shot was the product of a dolly shot.
Unless they were after the bookcase/cross effect from the outset, there was absolutely no other reason to rent a dolly (production crews don't own equipment like this, they rent them from job-to-job).
We can all draw our own conclusions about the truthfulness of Mike Huckabee's and Ed Rollins' denials...
And Fred, you are da man! Mike is a girlie-girl..sissy.
sw
Hope Fred screams to the media about this, and directly challenges Huck on this man to man. Whip up some controversy.
If you can’t beat the media...use and manipulate them.
Rollins is like Carville without looking so comical. At least with Carville you want to throw him a live fish or something.
Vote Whig.
We received one of the calls last night. It just confirmed my opinion of Huckabee.
