I’m sure the NYT would love nothing more than if we nominated Fred Thompson. He was good tonight, but he has no chance in the general.
you can tell that the news is good coming out of Iraq because you read so little about it in The New York Times.
Decent coverage from the nyt....

Fred’s picking up steam.
Send him your support and some $$ too.
He’s the ONE!
Ridiculous.
I’m certain you missed the sarcasm tag, eh, newbie?
You don’t think he was good tonight?
“he has no chance in the general.”
Against the mighty and uber experienced “one” term Senator’s.
He just might have a chance if people like you would shut up and think. It’s a long way off and no one has it in the bag as yet. The media is not one to listen too. They think Romney has had it and he leads in delegates at this point. Give me a break.
I’ll take a chance on him!
But...it’s a discussion forum right? Don’t you want to hear other opinions, or should we all just write laudatory comments about Fred Thompson ad infinitum?
I think Fred’s the only one up there (maybe Rudy too?) who could stand his ground against the Dem without breaking a sweat. Oh yes, with Fred as our nominee, WE WIN.
Fred is the only CONSERVATIVE who can win crossover and independent votes (against Hillary and Obama, who have lots of negative baggage even for some Dems and many independents). Believe me, Fred Thompson will be our next President if we can only nominate him.
In the marketplace of ideas, conservatism wins every time it’s tried (Rush, you’ve read from my cue cards before so I am stealing from yours!). Against Barack or Mrs. Clinton in a debate, I think Ol’ Fred would just say “BRING IT.”
LOL
He will do just fine in the general election.

“..... he has no chance in the general.”
Bull!
Fred will slay the Hildabeast.
If you listen to Rush as all good conservatives do or at least should, he said , do not listen to the media about who is quitting and who should drop out at this point. We are just now beginning to start this long road to the elections. Hell, after Iowa, there were rumors the Hillary was or should drop out. Now you know that will never happen in a million years.
I think Fred would stomp Hillary. He's likable and she isn't.
It’s when people like you say that over and over it comes out that way. Enough of the negative on Fred. People said that for a year about Duncan Hunter and that is when Rudy was leading all polls by 30%. Can you imagine if we didn’t bad mouth his campaign and people actually supported him and gave funds?
We wouldn’t be worried about a guy named Huckabee and McCain would be back home in AZ.
