By the way, for our moonbat friends, sorry the anti-war surrender monkey Ron Paul is totally unqualified to be Commander-in-chief. He's out.

If FRed doesn’t get the nomination I will sadly have to cast my vote for Romney. I detest McCain and I agree with Rush and Mark on the Huckster. Couldn’t vote for either of them.

Excellent analysis.

But sadly, pretty thin gruel.

The saddest thing is that I can’t argue with the liberals I work with.

Nobody is fired up as the MSM is picking the candidates for us.

leaves plan B. Squat down, tuck your head down between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye.

Plan B: then I write in Duncan Hunter, as I won't vote for a Rat with lipstick on an "R" ticket any more than I would want a wolf in sheep's clothing "guarding" my children.

Revalations, 6th chapter comes to mind:

2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. (McCain)

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. (Romney)

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. (Giuliani)

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. (Huckabee)

If we nominate someone who can't win, then what's the point of picking the most ideologically pure candidate?

The party is more than just one man. The party is the collection of judges to pick from, the bureaucrats that will be chosen to run departments, on and on. An "Administration" consists of thousands of people.

A Republican president will pick from Republican candidates for those jobs. A Dem the opposite.

Obviously priority no. 1 is to pick a winner for November. Anything else is Losertarian strategy.

First of all Jim, thank you for all you do.

My only concern is who can beat Hill or the big O, as having a Dem in the White House is the greatest evil to me.

I think Rudy, Romney, Thompson could beat either one in that order, with Rudy having the best chance. My personal choice is Thompson, but with many reservations and I don’t think he can win.

Aside from your four issues, my biggest issue is a constitutionalist judge in the Supreme Court. Rudy has said he would nominate a judge that would be a constitutionalist. Rudy is a leader. Probably more so than any of the other candidates. I think may people on both sides have the confidence in him to finish the war in our favor and that’s what everyone wants, both D and R, to win and get out.

I really want to vote for Thompson because his issue stances are mine. However I want a Republican to win more than I want to vote for someone who, so far in this campain, hasn’t shown to be a leader. I am also concerned with his lack of experience at running anything.

And I am going to vote. No matter who gets the Republican nomination, I don’t want anyone else picking a President for me. I am hoping that those Republicans who say they won’t vote this election will have a change of heart once it gets right down to two. No matter what, ALL the Republican candidates would be better than Hillary or O.

Now how is that when I go to the voting booth on Feb 5th... do I ask for a Demopublican ballot? Somehow I get this feeling I am going to feel very dirty in November when I have to put that ballot in the box with a RINO’s name on it as my selection.

Well Jim, I guess we work hard to ensure we keep the seats in Congress, and even try to take back the majorities, so that whoever is elected, we are going to have to hold them back on legislation. None of the 4 will will prevent socialism from dominating our country, nor will the more likely scenario, a dem being elected. We will NEED Congress.

I still pray it won’t come to your worst case :)

"Rudy fails in all categories, McCain and Romney fail on guns, and all fail on borders. So I guess Huckabee has more to offer over the others at this point as he is at least pro-life and pro-gun.:

I wouldn't count on Huckabee one that one. It's either Hunter or Thompson or I write in Hunter. End of story!

At least the surrender monkeys on the Dem side just want to pull out of Iraq (still wrong), unlike Ron Paul who wants to pull our troops from EVERYWHERE (more wrong).

There is also the possibility that there will be a major event prior to the election that will turn the tide for one of the lessor knowns such as Thompson.

Don’t know what that might be but it always seems as if something big comes along.

I feel like Huck has lied, danced, and parsed on so many things I don’t believe anything he says he stands for anymore. McCain is a traitor to the party, he’s out.

Romney and Rudy, maybe. If Romney will actually govern conservative, and if Rudy will be a federalist on some of these issues like he says he will, then I might take the risk if the are the nominee, if they don’t do anything else stupid between now and then.

...if the only two conservatives in the race were to drop out, leaving the hapless RINOs Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee and McCain to ward off the Evil Witch of the East then, Jim, what do we do?

We lose. Game over!

Logicallly the weaker of the two should resign the campaign and throw his support to the other.

Duncan is the weakest and should resign in support of Fred

I would respectively add “nomination of conservative judges” to your list. I remember “compassionate conservative” candidate GW Bush in speech after speech would always promise to nominate strict Constitutionalists judges to the bench. His team recognized this issues importance to many of us broken glassers.

In 2000, this was numero uno on my list of changes that the next Republican president had to make. I’m sure many others felt similarly and this is likely the reasons why that was one of his staple promises.

The Harriet Meir's(sp) incident confirmed this issue’s importance. Conservative backlash forced Bush to drop this nominee and put up a person the vast majority of us would have confidence would follow the Constitution.
