No way. McLame would open go for amnesty and open the borders. No way I would ever vote for McCain.

And of course either Shrillary or Obama Husein would close the border/round up and deport their voting block, etc...

I can't believe the high proportion of FR's that would vote democrat by throwing their vote away can be due wholly to nearsightedness and/or ego- can it be some 'sleepers'?

If you’re from Maine as your screen name implies, how is it living in the land of RINOs and socialists ? You all give us Collins, Snowe, and then say we shoul do the same on a national scale ?

You need to start work in your own state to get rid of socialist-lites.

Don't presume to lecture me on what conservatives do and don't, n00b. I've lectured better folks than you on the topic.

I'm not presuming. You're as ignorant as I've seen here in six years.

Conservatives ... don't enable the election of troop-hating, wealth-redistributing tax-hikers by voting for them when they have the temerity to run for President as Republicans.

And there's unmitigated proof.

Here's a hint for you: Stop talking

Way to go, Josef. And what if I don't shut up and sit down? Hmmmm? Is it off to the Gulag with me?

Another dumb tactic you employ is excerpting replies and addressing them as though you were addressing replies in full, then smearing the poster as though your post rebutted the full substance of the excerpt.

As a non-Republican

I really wish conclusion-jumping was an Olympic Sport. Really. You'd guarantee the USA a Gold Medal it.

Republicans don't address fellow Republicans in the second or third person. Republicans speak of Republicans in the first person, as in "we had better not nominate Turd and Stool"...

Of course, that word choice violates Reagan's Eleventh Commandment...further evidence of your non-Republicanism.

Any Republican reading this thread can see it. It's all neatly portrayed in your language.

It's okay, although you'd be better off shucking the denial.

It is easier for us now to push back at our own when they try to do something we don’t like. "Pushing back" is only talk. It's essentially a threat, or promise, not to vote for the bugger if he does the thing you oppose, or doesn't do the thing you favour. What happens when he goes against you ... and then a year or two later, you go and vote for him anyway? Seems to me, you lose your credibility. Will your "push back" do any good then? Or will the politicians correctly view it as mere empty posturing?

We pushed back on the amnesty bill. That push was against more than one person. It was against the entire Washington establishemt. And it was effective. One person cannot get something done in Washington. John McCain will not bring down the republic by himself. Hillary Clinton well might. So, again...if push comes to shove, I will hold my nose and vote for him, should he become our nominee. Anyone who lets the camel's nose of any democrat under the tent by voting 3rd party or not voting at all is part of the problem. Don't sacrifice the good (a comparitive term in McCain's case only) in search of the perfect. You will never find the perfect. You will, however get the bad if you run away from your imperfect family. Just hold their feet to the fire. Again, the amnesty issue is a good example of how we CAN have influence.

I will vote for McCain. He is trustworthy on national defence...

National defense? Trustworthy? What about the little issue of securing the border?? He had no interest in that until he got smacked down by the American people.

I'll never vote for McCain, or any other politician that supports selling out this nation's sovereignty or trampling on the rule of law: 4) Third Party.

Plus my perception of McCain is that he is an a-hole on a personal level. I don't ever reward these kinds of people.

I’d rather have a liberal democrat in the White House than a liberal McCain.

you wouldn't be getting a "liberal democrat" - wake up. The democrat party has been systematically and successfully infiltrated and taken over by the Socialist/Communist parties of America.

The last democrat was Joe Lieberman.

The Socialists/Communists have taken over, hiding in plain sight - and we still, obediently, call them democrats.

They are card carrying Socialists...Sheeple, get your heads out of the sand or wherever you have it stuck.

I addition to that, any vote that aids them getting back into the WH is to spit in the faces of our troops and all they have sacrificed. And so, anyone I know of who so aids and abets our enemies = I spit in your face...and I call 'em as I see 'em

I say to them: "you are an "

Hillary would like to thank you all for your 3rd party votes

On days like this, with so many of the responses here, I suspicion Hillary has had 'sleepers' planted in FR since 2000 - definitely since 2004 - I can all but smell them...

It’s not lunch, it’s not about parties, there is a nation and a people here, and I want my family protected against terrorist and Red Chinese murderers. Throw all the temper tantrums you want, elect idiot left wingers by not voting, some day it won’t just be the World Trade Centers (as horrible as that was) You’ll be watching your own family die of radiation poisoning. That’s the reality of what’s out there.

We pushed back on the amnesty bill. That push was against more than one person. It was against the entire Washington establishemt. And it was effective.

Of course it was ... it was a credible threat to throw the bums out ... and since they did actually back down, we don't have to carry it out. What are the consequences of electing a pro-amnesty, pro-open-borders President? What does that do to our credibility next time the 'honorables' in Congress try to pull off amnesty, or drag their heels on protecting the border?

One person cannot get something done in Washington. John McCain will not bring down the republic by himself. Hillary Clinton well might.

I think you just contradicted yourself.

Anyone who lets the camel's nose of any democrat under the tent

What do you say of anyone who lets the camel's nose of a RINO under the tent? I say a RINO may well be worse than a 'Rat ... and that anybody who votes for a RINO is the problem.

Just hold their feet to the fire.

With what? Provably empty threats? If we vote for RINOS, that's all we'll ever get. And that will just lead to more actual 'Rats. We elected a hugely Republican Congress in 1994. For a decade, those supposed Republicans dragged their heels on conservative issues ... even with a Republican President. In 2006, the 'Rats took over Congress. I wasn't surprised. The RINOS deserved to lose, because they no longer deserved to win. Continuing to support RINOism in '08 is a guaranteed losing proposition.

Oh, I’ve thought about that long and hard. I don’t see the difference. If you look at a record of his votes in the Senate, he’s more comfortable on the D side of the aisle.

The ONLY thing I can agree with him on is his fight against earmarks and pork.

He has way too many markers that make him no better than Clinton - except maybe slightly in the ethics department.

I’d rather blame the screw-ups on a D in office, like we have been this year with Dingy Harry and Stretch Nancy, than on the R in office like the Dims and many Rs have done with Bush.

Sheesh - take the amnesty bill. It was the Kennedy-McCain bill - but the press started calling it Bush’d bill because he supported it. And if it had passed - we’d hear for forever that the Rs gave amnesty, like we hear about Reagan’s amnesty in ‘86.

So no, McCain would not give us a single advantage over any Dim nominee.

I’m glad you don’t want to “reward” McCain personally because you think he’s a jerk. So maybe you’ll watch your loved ones suffer and die in a terrorist attack, maybe a nuclear blast and the radiation poisoning that follows. Maybe America will be gone as we know it, and freedom with it. But you’ll have upheld your pathetic egotistical “principles” which have squat to do with much of anything.

Sorry but I’ve watched too many morons deliberately turn our citizens over to leftists, because the morons wanted to stamp their feet and teach the republican party a lesson. But I can’t make you vote so thanks for the damage you may do to all of us.

And BTW I am not even remoptely a fan of the republican party, but I choose a president I don’t hand the keys to my house to Hilary and walk away in a tantrum.
