Now, now... Mitt Romney is a loyal Republican and he is conservative.

I’m also uneasy about McCain’s “temperment”. >>>>>>>>>>

McPain? He likely has nascent Alzheimers.

He sure acts like it.

And besides, at 5"6", he is just too short to be president. His feet won't touch the floor sitting behind the oval office desk.

I know, I stood beside McCain playing my pipes as I piped him in to a Republican dinner in 2000. That man is a shorty.

Short man, short temper.

But who knows? Maybe he is all we have left. All others are bible thumpers or carpet baggers except for Fred and Duncan.

McCain / Thompson ticket?

Its possible.

Petronski,

I understand your antipathy to Mit but please answer this question. What if Fred comes in third in South Carolina and drops out of the race. Which candidate would you support then? I don’t like Romney but he certainly is better than Giuliani or McCain and probably better than Huckabee so I am really curious about who you would support if Fred drops out.

Hillary’s jacket is dreadful. But get a gander at CHelsea, she looks like spiderwoman in her outfit. THey sort of match in a weird way.

How could I despise this woman more? It just isn’t possible.

Hillary loves the sound of her own voice,,she always talks too long.

“Can’t believe that Hill is reading her speech. I thought she was the smartest person on this planet.”

Hillary read hers, McInsane read his, Romney spoke extemporaneously. The wrong man won.

Excellent post.

I think Thompson probably has the firmest grasp of conservative philosophy. He is wise. He could be a great President. To help, one can offer money, time, and one’s vote. Let’s hope it happens. But it might not happen. Much the same applies to Hunter.

I think Romney is genuinely pro-market. Free markets are freedom. He also gets the threat of Islamic supremacy. He deserves credit for his balanced speech on religion in America. (The wife of the editor of the Washington Post did have a point: when lauding religion, he failed to laud atheism. Boo-hoo). He seems to be a good man, family man, businessman, and probably as able a governor as Massachusetts would ever accept or deserves. He’s come around on abortion. He’s smart, articulate, organized, has money (don’t scoff - we need it), and we could easily do far worse.

Honestly , it isn’t about Hillary’s looks, it is about what is in her dark deep soul.

“Clinton/Obama will be a great ticket.................for the GOP!”

I agree. Though, in a way, I hate to say it, but there’s plenty in that ticket for a lot of people to vote against. I am saying, there is probably a significant number of people who will note vote for Hillary for being herself(which is fine) and a significant number of people who wouldn’t vote for a black guy (which is not fine, but still probably true).

I really have two significant problems with Obama: his liberalism and his inexperience. Add to that the fact that there’s so little known about who he really is and what he really thinks and he’s almost like a Manchurian candidate in some ways. Still, its funny that, next to Hillary, I could almost like the guy. Then again, I kinda like root canal work next to Hillary.
