Hey, you! :-) I think I read that on this thread, lol. Did he know his mic was on, or was it one of those “I didn’t know I was being recorded” moments?

Rush said that the media/liberals didn’t make him, so they can’t destroy him either. Fred needs to make himself, rather than Rush making him.

“To Mitt’s credit, we do want people to change their minds on abortion “

Exactly. We will never win if we only agree with people that have agreed with us their whole life. We NEED converts.

I agree with Rush on how much the president can do to reverse RoeVWade.

No the board is overwhelmingly Conservative, the fact that men like Fred and Duncan are the most popular here is only fitting ;-)...

Exactly Happy.

Now that DH is almost gone, its time for the MSM to use that successful tactic on Fred.

Oh please. And just how would that happen? If Roe v. Wade is overturned, abortion goes to the states. Mitt’s view. FRed!’s view. Identical.

I watched the response meter (Fox had it running on their website)during the debate and Mitt’s answers were generally in the mid to high 70s whereas most of the other candidate responses hovered in the 60s. I don’t know how much stock we can put in focus group data but this particular group was certainly very impressed with Romney which is, at least, a good sign.

I’ve supported Fred and have donated to his campaign. But I think it’s time to hang it up (assuming he doesn’t break double digits Tuesday). He just doesn’t inspire those who don’t know him. And, as much as I hate to say it, it looks like we’re going to be going up a fresh young whipppersnapper who can talk the leaves off the trees. Fred will look too old next to him (Dole revisited).

I unfortunately have to agree after watching obama's post-Iowa victory speech. Mitt is the only candidate who can hold a candle to him as far as presence. My best hope scenario now is a Mitt/Thompson ticket, with Fred playing Chaney to Mitt's Bush.

I could handle Romney as Secretary of Commerce under President Thompson.

Better yet: Romney for Press Spokesman.

He's articulate & energetic, and on those few occasions where it's valid to tell a little white lie, well, he sure has the experience!

“I completely agree. And Reagan was an inspiration. A real leader. I don’t see Fred in remotely the same light. I think Rudy is inspirational and would make an amazing President. I trust him....” NY NY it must be the water.

I look at the ISSUE that are most important to America as a NATION:

1) The War on Terror - who’s going to keep a firm hand on the till against terrorists?

2) Willing to stand for Israel FIRST? - Most of these guys are for talks, blah, blah, blah - Rudy flat out said there shouldn’t be any talks of a Palestinian State until they put aside their terrorism and factions who promote attacks against Israel.

3) Taxes - who has a proven record of fighting tax increases and being one to fiscally manage money?

4) Social Security and Medicare? Who has talked about fixing these issues and reducing gov’t involvement and then has the toughness to tackle the issue against a do-nothing congress?

4) Proven leadership in a crisis?

ALot of these candidates may have 1 or more good intentions and ideas, but at this point, Rudy has accomplished the actual proven record in a VERY LIBERAL state. Plus, of all those touting Reagan’s name, only 1 to my notice actually worked closely in his administration - Rudy.

These are just my observations.

You don’t know NH. Many folks have moved from Vermont and Massachusetts to NH. They are generally liberal up there, and that’s why they liked Mitt.

I think Rudi makes a good VP candidate. He appeals to a segment of the electorate that a strong conservative doesn’t necessarily attract.

I’m considering the source .. not the candidates.
Those folks are from liberal, quirky New England.
And, they could SAY they’re Repubs. Wonder if Fox
verifies that. Even if so, they’re from New England
and as a born and transplanted New Englander ...
they’re plain different.

There’s plenty of open debate here.

But most folks here currently back Fred.
They are rallying. We looked at the records long ago.

If you look in this very thread, I am critical of Fred using SS reform as a campaign issue.

Who is your candidate?
