Does Obama ever talk without screaming? He sounds more like a preacher.

How is Obama a better candidate?

To answer this you have to think like a lib. Who is a bigger victim? A powerful white woman, or a black man with a Muslim background?

Thinking about it like that, Obama beats Hillery. =o)

He’s well-spoken. He’s not “angry.” He has no real baggage that the average American cares about. And Oprah is behind him...he’s DANGEROUS....

“Obama is on a roll now. He’s going to kill the wicked witch from the East. She’s toast.”

I’m not troubled by it at all. I’m happy for him. As happy as I can be for a party that puts up a big three of one term Senators with not an ounce of difference in that one term’s voting record.

Yes, the evangelicals are an important part of the base. But they at least used to pretend to also support conservative policies. Apparently, all that matters is he smile and proclaim he’s a good Christian Man, and he can sit there with an open copy of “The Communist Manifesto” and they’ll still vote for him.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I am with you 100% on that. I believe it was a vast mistake for both Romney and Huckabee to tout religion in order to win in Iowa. That makes them both emotion-pandering cartpet baggers. Its going to back fire bigtime on them, and you and I are but two who will make sure that happens. We are legion.

I mean fancy this:

Reporter: "Mr Huckabee whats you position on illegal alien amnesty?"

Huckabee: " Glory Hallelujah!"

Reporter: "A short supplemental question, what do you think of the premptive strike strategy on terrorists in order to secure the Wests oil supply in the Persian Gulf States?"

Huckabee: " Praise the Lawd!"

As you can see, when Huckabee comes East, that shite won't wash even two pegs in a basket, even though it worked in corn husker territory.

If Hillary Clinton was smart, she’d drop out now and endorse Obama. She’s already toast. Clinton will be shredded in total by the time the Democrats nominate Obama.

You said — “I’ve seen a lot of Christian groups that define a “cult” as any group of individuals that do not follow orthodox — for their own definition of orthodox — Christian teaching.”

That’s exactly the definition — in terms of “Christianity”. I thought I was in the “context” of Christianity. If I didn’t specify that, first — then I should have clarified that the context *is* Christianity. And thus, the *definition* of “cult” is according to a Christian definition.

That book — Kingdom of the Cults — is a Christian book because it compare the *essence* of Christianity (what the basics are) across the board with all the other groups around. It’s a tool for Christians to be able to define and identify those (other groups) who *deny the faith* — by *rejecting* one or several of the basic, historic and foundational doctrines by which *all* must adhere to, in order to be called “Christian”.

It is a definition for Christians in order to maintain the faith of Christianity — as something *different* and *apart* from all who are *non-Christian*.

It’s not a narrow definition — but quite wide-based and covers many many Christian groups and denominations. It serves to let anyone know who is *not Christian* (in their teachings and doctrines in that they deny certain basic, historic and foundational doctrines of Christianity).

Star Traveler

I just went to NR's "Campaign Spot." Here's what Jim Geraghty had to say about Fred:

Fred Thompson: You're alive, although tonight could have, and should have, gone a lot better for you. Stick around. Romney just played javelin receiver, Rudy and Huckabee will split the party, and a lot of conservatives aren't sure if they trust McCain. Keep doin' what you're doin', push hard in every state as you pushed in Iowa, and you may end up being the guy who has to save the party from the historic error represented by... one of the other guys.

I was thinking of the November report that The Arkansas Republican assemblies had voted 80% for Fred and 4% for Huckabee. http://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/2007/11/arkansas-republican-assembly-endorses.html

Link for your poll?
