I thought the time was right to start up a live thread for results and comments about tonight, so here we are!
I would consider this a rural/suburban district in the center of the state (Story County)
All the caucus were sequestered at 6:30p Iowa time, emerging with their vote with no access to the media.
Sooooo, unless I’m missing something, the MSM are making a splash for ratings. BTW I’m including Fox news in the MSM now.
Can you say ...vote Libertarian in 2008?
Yep, dollar per vote Romney turned out a big loser tonight, IMHO. Spending that much money and you can’t carry a solid lead... Doesn’t look good for the long haul.
Oh come on. This is Iowa. Who gives a rats?
The only reason for this exercize is to get rid of the 1/2 pretenders.
Wow! Where can I get a roll of dole like that? I’m always broke...bummer!!
Oh, I get an extra-big font from you. Whooopee.
I also noticed your slap in the face earlier to those Romney supporters who have also spoken well of FRed! Redgirlinabluestate and GOP_Lady being two I can think of right now. Your slap in the face is that all Mitt supporters hate FRed! You are wrong and just projecting the hate you have for Romney.
Cedar Rapids ‘30’
1. Romney - 61
2. Thompson - 41
3. McCain & Huckabee - 34 each
5. Paul - 20
6. Guliani - 8
7. Keyes - 4
8. Hunter - 2
Very crowded, about 2x people over chairs...Fred and Romney folks very excited...I would say Ron was the other surprise.
B. Hussein Obama is right on his heels...
But the HLA won’t pass.
Thompson’s stance will be more effective - working the Supreme Court angle, since they got us into this mess in the first place.
Sometimes, you have to take what sounds less appealing but is more effective over the one that ‘seems’ morally ‘correct’ on the surface.
It’s the net result that counts.
Wow- Ed Rollins is making Reagan turn over in his grave..
I still remember a time seven years ago when some folks on this site thought the Huck was the best thing to ever come along. He played and sang at the Freepers dance that long ago night in January. I am not a Huck fan by any means but if he impressed back then I guess he still has the touch.
Oh..., one more thing...
If there is one thing that I’m very grateful for Huckabee doing, it’s that he’s gathered the Evangelicals together, in enough of a block to stomp the heck out of the cult group candidate... for that I say “Go Huckabee” (and at this point, that would be my only reason.... LOL)...
Regards,
Star Traveler
He's a mean man. Maybe he'll smack Wallace in the mouth.
In the future, the GOP should just avoid the Iowa caucus altogether.
sw
Very rural county. Romney; Huckabee; Thompson, in that order...only three votes separated them.
“Well, if the only reason that you voted for Huckabee was because you didnt like Mit Romney, you voted in the wrong caucus. If Huckabee wins, well have the choice between two very liberal candidates, that will signal the end of conservativism forever.
“You may think that you are protecting the right to life, but in reality you have voted to end it, by handing the election to the Democrats.”
A correct statement.
At least KU’s ahead 17-0.
Why are the democrats reporting there precincts at twice the speed of the Republicans?
Yep, ABC is predicting Obama the winner, too. They are saying it’s too close to call 2nd place.
