The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Program was a fill in during the Christmas holiday for years, especially Christmas day. This year I could not find their lovely music. Wondering if not being on was a statement by the MSM, or perhaps I just missed their airing.

Due to some financial set-backs they are now the “Mormon Tabernacle Quartet”.

I saw them here on Baltimore TV. More than once too. Maybe you missed them in your area.

I think they were on PBS. I missed them this year. In years past they were on one of the major networks. There were no Christmas specials like the good old days. Guess they didn't want to offend anybody. I find 2/3 of what I see offensive these days.
I'm glad I'm as old as I am. I don't like the changes in today's world.

It was beautiful. They had a soloist named Sissel, Irish I believe.
She has a wonderful voice.
My one disappointment was their not singing ‘Oh Holy Night’, my favorite.

Was on YouTube this evening. A beautiful rendition of The Lord's Prayer in Latin. Music, composition, arrangement and video all done by the singer, MaryAnne Silva (known as ysabellabrave):

SPOTLIGHT THE ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
12/24/2007
‘Christmas With the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’
9 p.m. on PBS (Channel 9)
It’s Christmas Eve, and television which started with the holiday specials around Thanksgiving has just about run Christmas into the ground. But because some of you might be yearning to watch one more version of “A Christmas Carol,” or one final “Grinch,” writing an everyday set of Critic’s Picks seems wrong somehow. So here, minus the 41-cent stamp, is a little Christmas card from me to you.
What’s more Christmas-y than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir? How about the choir, carols and Sissel? The Norwegian singer joins the choir for a holiday concert, getting a repeat airing. Musically speaking, PBS has also scheduled “The Three Tenors Christmas” for 7 p.m. and “Christmas at Belmont,” featuring both carols and secular songs, for 10 p.m.

The Church also has it’s own channel - BYU channel 374 on my Direct TV - a lot of great programming - and of course they had the Choir on Christmas

Their concert was shown here at midnight on Christmas Eve/Morning on Metro TV, a lovely show with the singer Sissel, some beautiful carols.
Where am I? Jakarta, Indonesia!
Seems like the world’s most populous Muslim country did better than where you are.
