Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been critically injured after a suspected suicide attack at a political rally in Pakistan.
It was believed to be a suicide attackShe is undergoing emergency surgery at a nearby hospital, Sky News sources say.
The explosion went off just after Ms Bhutto left the rally in Rawalpindi, minutes after her speech to thousands of people.
Fox News just showed a picture of what they believed to be the murder weapon.
It looked to me like it was a Steyr M-9 pistol.
Sort of a strange glock looking gun.
And they will send a letter expressing their "deep concern."
The letter will be in bold print and in all caps.
Might as well blame the gun or the explosives used.
This A-Q red herring attempts to hide the fact that fundamental islam, and all* the countries that fund and support terrorism are the culprits.*
Or we could always blame the evil SUV she was riding in.
bttt
Me and you both.
Did they blame Israel?
I wont calm down until I know Mike Gravel, Cynthia McKinney and Kucinich all condemn this dastardly act...8—)
LOL!! Good one!!
Gee, here I thought that Al Qaeda was a problem.
Bump and damn the assassins.
LOL. I stand corrected. I figured when I called them nutz I was drawing a pretty clear dividing line ;)
Al Qaeda = SUV.
I see what you mean.
LAWTON, IOWA -- Hillary Clinton reacted to the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Ministar Benazir Bhutto today saying, "The world is once again reminded of the dangers facing those who pursue democracy and free elections in Pakistan and elsewhere, in areas that are rife with conflict and violence and extremeism and anti-democratic forces at work." "I have known Benazir Bhutto for a dozen years and I knew her as a leader. I knew her as someone was willing to take a risks to persue democracy on behalf of the people of Pakistan. She wrote a very moving autobiography which begins with the assassination of her father who was had been the leader of Pakistan and was killed as well." "I grieve for her family, particularly her two children. And I grieve for the people of Pakistan who deserve to have an opportunity to vote for leaders of their choosing, who deserve to have democracy take root in a country that has tremendous potential that is not being realized because their system of government has oppressed or undermined the abilities and talents of millions of Pakistanis." "And I hope that if their is any opportunity for the government and people of Pakistan to respond to this tragedy appropriately, it would be to move more steadfastly and determinately toward democracy. She has given her life for that hope." "And I know to the people of our country stand in solidarity with those who believe, as we do, in the rights of people to be heard at the ballot box. We're about to see that begin in our own country in just a week, and so it is a particularly poignant moment for us to extend our sympathy and condolences to the Bhutto family and to the people of Pakistan. And I certainly will do anything I can to support the continuing efforts to democratize a very important and critical nation to the future of that region and the world."
One problem with the witch's grieving. Benazir Bhutto leaves behind three children.
Well, AQ wanted chaos in Iraq so that they could chase the Americans out, primarily. Chaos works in Pakistan because then they have more reign to do their stuff. Plus, it is a very blurry line between AQ and the Pakistan government. In some areas (of the government), they are synonymous. Lots of corruption. It is not in the regional interest to have a chaotic Pakistan. The US and India don’t want it, Russia possibly might like it, Iran probably doesn’t want it, Afghanistan doesn’t want it...
Your little label is worse than useless, because it neglects that human aspect.
"Humanity" is, unfortunately, heavily dependent on culture, and the arabic and other Middle East cultures have demonstrated and proven beyond any doubt whatsoever that their diplomacy and persuasion of choice is death: explosives, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, plastique, dull rusty knives...
To compare them to normal human beings is inaccurate, misleading and ultimately suicidal.
That's my opinion. The politically correct, the terminally ignorant and the uninformed have drifted slowly in the same direction due to unavoidable evidence that it is the correct view of islam.
I’m thinking assassinating Musharraf would require massive infiltration of his security protection. I am sure he has an incredible amount of security. I bet he doesn’t walk out in public (with or without protection) very often, if at all. It would probably be easier to assassinate our president.
