Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been critically injured after a suspected suicide attack at a political rally in Pakistan.

It was believed to be a suicide attackShe is undergoing emergency surgery at a nearby hospital, Sky News sources say.

The explosion went off just after Ms Bhutto left the rally in Rawalpindi, minutes after her speech to thousands of people.

They also said there would be more deaths from the earlier explosion at her rally. (More than the 20 already reported, I presume.)

BBC reporting that Bhutto's spokesman is saying that she'd dead.

Fox just reported the same. She's dead and they say she escaped the blast, but was shot in the neck as she was trying to flee the scene.....

Can't dig up the link at the moment, but she had a breathless; almost yelling "interview" with her after her return to Pakistan in October in which she basically wanted Bhutto to admit that others who died in a similar assasination attempt was her fault.

As opposed to putting blame where it belonged, on the terrorists. I believe there was a thread about it at the time.
