Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.

Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?

“Conservatives don’t like liberal candidates. That is why Fredheads don’t like McCain, Romney, Guiliani or Huckabee.”

Which of those four do you lean towards? Or will you dodge the question?

There can be only one.

What’s your opinion of McCain?

I wish I could in good conscience vote Huckabee since two of my biggest issues are pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment rights.
Yet I think the man may just be a little too NAIVE as evidenced by his record on pardons. His proclivity to raise taxes troubles me as well, not to mention his complete lack of foreign policy experience.
I DO like him as a person, however, more so than any other GOP candidate.

Reminds me of the joke about the guy whose wife was hit by the puck during the hockey game.

She was killed instantly, but on the bright side, he made it back for the 3rd period.

My bad on the political contributions. Have never contributed to any candidate but would like to for Fred. Always thought they were tax deductible. Wonder why?

I don’t lean toward any of them. Other than Fred the only other current candidate acceptable to a conservative is Duncan Hunter.

If you are asking which Republican candidate I would vote for vs. the Demoncrat nominee then the answer would be all of them. But I would much rather have a “Ronald Reagan” type Republican president than a “Nelson Rockefeller” type Republican president.

As a further answer, of the four liberals listed Romney would be my last choice because he is by far the most dishonest of the candidates on the Republican side.

“I think you should know by now that Free Repulic management and the vast majority of its members endorse Fred Thompson as the Republican candidate and thus Fred Thompson followers can say what ever they want about other candidates and their followers on FR and no one is going to stop them. It is a sad and unfortunate fact but it is what it is. The question I asked few weeks ago is what will Free Republic do if Fred Thompson is not the nominee?”

Huck, McCain, Rudy or Mitt?

There will be only one.

A time for choosing approaches.

One is the obvious choice.

“do you know if when/will it become tax deductible???”

Contributions to political campaigns are NOT tax deductible.

“So instead of banning someone who used the term, let’s just let them know how stupid they are for applying it incorrectly.”

Uhhh...are you aware Fred has called his wife that term?

“OK you are right, Mitt Romney fans are in absolute control of the forum and the mods are supporting them to ban any Fred Thompson supporter who goes against them (extreme sarcasm).”

Which of those four do you lean towards?

May I play also? I lean toward none of those four as a second choice. All four of them would fit better on the Democrat side.

That’s a lie.

Consider yourself busted. Hard.

The obvious choice for me is “none of those four.”
