"A president has a responsibility to, uh, you know, retaliate against an attack. I don't think there's been a good example of a need to do that throughout our whole history."

No doubt he may have misspoke. Happens to the best of us. No, the best of us--even the REST of us--wouldn't "misspeak" on the level of the quote in the OP.

Do you all get the feeling that the Paulbats are all furiously emailing each other and cobbling together a cover story? They don’t seem to know how to play this one...yet.

I have to say that the Ministry of Silly Explanations must be abuzz with activity, still. Only one response? In 101 posts? I’m a little disappointed. If you can defend keeping Nazi money, surely a little inconsequential misstatement on every single military action the US has ever undertaken shouldn’t be that hard, no?
To: West Coast Conservative
I bet they will. I’m watching to see.

And that response was basically, “He didn’t mean it.”
Since then...

They are cowering and do not have the nerve to come out and defend him on this thread. If the quote is provable with video / transcript, this will be one more nail in the coffin that will cause his defeat in his district. This will be a gem for Chris Peden to use against Paul.

Yeah, I grew up in Texas, and that kind of talk is going to get an ugly response. Just think, Ron would have surrendered the freaking Alamo to Santa Anna!

I wonder if the Paulistinians ever grow tired of his continued quest for the Grail of Stupid Quotes. Surely, they beat themselves about the head and shoulders with blunt objects when he makes these inane statements? Surely?

Yes he would have. Ron Paul has created a problem for himself. Republican voters do not like the blame America, surrender crap he has been talking for some time. To maintain his seat in Congress, he has to convince the largest voting bloc he needs to retain his seat, republicans, to vote for him. It is not going to happen. He will be without a job shortly.

I forgot about Kucinich’s brother. May they do the best they can do with my regards. May they grieve in peace.

I am awaiting ANY Paulistinian to tell me how the candidate didn’t really SAY that.

I doubt even FRs Paul contingent can defend this utterly ludicrous remark. Paul should be kicked out of the party. What an embarrassment.I can defend anything. I love a challenge. I'm a Fred guy. Although any public serpent like Ron Paul who wants to leave me the heck alone is friend of mine.
What is my client Ron being charged with?

Sorry it’s kind of dead, seems the Ronulans don’t want to play tonight. They got run out of Little Green Footballs with their tails between their legs in about 24 hours, and now this.
They are out there somewhere in the ether, regrouping.
